How to determine purity of Cocaine??

I've got a bit available but am a little disappointed with the amount of cut and the burn on drainage. Is there not a way that you can reduce it to powder and not 'rock'. I've heard of heating it up w/water in a spoon, than topping off the stuff on the top of water with a cotton ball? But the rest is a mystery.
