been on Soma a long time, and lost it,(physically lost my bottle) and can not get it replaced by Dr.. Any idea how to deal with any withdrawel? Been on 350mgx4 for 12 years.

I've withdrawn from different drugs and alcohol but not soma personally. I've heard it can be rough so if you can get some other medications like gabapentin or pregabalin and loperamide in case you get diarrhea. Do you have any other meds in the house like diazepam? That would be helpful. When was your last dose of soma?

Never use gabapentin or pregabalin for any withdrawals as those calcium channel blockers have the potential to cause the worst withdrawal in the world. Not everyone gets withdrawal from those medications but why take the chance? Even benzos is a better option in my view.

I made the misstake of choosing to use gabapentin for opiate withdrawal 2 years ago and now I am stuck on this med for life because it simply is impossible to quit. I would definitely turn back time and take the opiate addiction back if it was possible. Don't repeat my misstake OP.

They work wonderfully for withdrawal, the trick is to just not switch addictions, which I don't think is going to happen in this case...

Benzos are still miles better so I still don't see any reason to bother with these 2 meds. But you are right ofc about not switching addictions.

The reason I had to reply to this thread or why it caught my eye was because you mentioned withdrawal from Soma. My ex best friends mom who had been addicted to all sorts of RX meds, had a particularly very strong addiction to Soma (carisoprodol). She got clean, and at some point got back on them etc but i always wondered what were some of her withdrawal symptoms since she denied she had any (which i actually believed lol).

If you really feel like you have been defeated by your addiction, I would see a doctor or even better a psychiatrist and explain your situation and they might be able to prescribe you something to help you with the withdrawals.

I also have done Soma quiet a few times but on seperate occassions so I'm not sure for personal advice on dealing with the withdrawals. Another real good thing you could do is just go to google and type in soma withdrawal and i'm sure you will find hundreds of people and pages of people who have been addicted to soma and may know ways to get off it or help withdrawals.

soma wds are mostly psychological but you will hurt some it's not nearly as bad as opiate wds

Yeah I think that their are a lot of medications that are safer to that you can take for a short time to alleviate your withdrawals from Soma. Visit a doctor/psychiatrist they can understand your situation better.
