How the F--- do u stay away from the sh*t??

... knock on wood, never been to jail- hope I never have to go. Anyone on here been using dope for a long time and been able to avoid legal trouble altogether? I would imagine that it eventually catches up w/ you.... G-DAMN I'd be royally fucked if I caught a case.

remember your innocent until proven guilty, dont talk to the police, only talk to your lawyer....even if your caught red handed the cops can fuck it up real easily if they trying to be greedy and sneaky...and keep in mind i said lawyer not a public pretender..never use a fuckin PD

Yep, never forget this fellow out-laws...the vast majority of officers will fuck you over, they are not your friends, so don't listen to a word they say. Ask for a lawyer, and don't fall prey to the officer's bait, whatever method he may use to get you to talk.

If you cant move away, how about taking a vacation? Go somewhere tropical during the off-season to save money and distance yourself. Or anywhere you want to go that you've never been to before. Sometimes forcing yourself to be away from dope is the only way to keep you from doing it. Right now I'm back home from college for the summer, and I don't know of any way to get dope or pills in this town, so all I have are the 10 suboxene my boyfriend gave me. I'll have to quit even though I don't want to. I've already had plenty of moments where if I could get my hands on something, I definately would have done it.

why transfer from heroin to synthetic heroin ? same shit

both cost money
both take time to get
both make you sick when you do not get it

Upside:
Government sells it to you so its okay to do

and i almost forget the kicker the with drawl from synthetic heroin is worse than from the dope
Advantage is you are under the supervision of a physician. Ideally you'll taper off under that supervision.

Big difference, stop trying to justify your own dope habit and stay on topic.

Mos def, an addict will be able to sniff out anything given enough time. Teaching english in a different country is a good option, as it can be done for the cost of a plane ticket(even less, as some schools offer to pay travel expenses). Do it in a country like Korea or Japan, and you 'aint going to be touching opiates unless you get EXTREMELY lucky.

You need a bachelor's degree (It doesn't matter in what, but you NEED a university degree of some kind) to teach english in Japan. It's actually a requirement of getting a work VISA there, and from what I can tell there is zero flexibility.

No idea what the story is in korea.

As for your original post... I don't understand people that can move somewhere new and sniff out drugs. Maybe it's just that there isn't much where I live (Toronto, ON), but I can't imagine just going out and asking people and coming back with heroin. Doesn't seem possible to me.

For me it took a month in rehab and methadone to stop relapsing on dope. I would do dope about once or twice per month and that lasted for about a year. It took those two things to break the habit. I didn't want to do either, but I am so glad that I did. Suboxone doesn't work for everyone.

My life is better now than it ever was, even before I was using. My marriage of 6 years is awesome, I'm gonna be a mom in 2.5 months and my relationship with family is getting stronger everyday. Granted there are still some problems, but I am slowly taking care of them. I am back in school getting my PhD which I had to stop for awhile due to my dope habit.

I am sure recovery is different for every person. I think the key is getting to a point where you are willing to try anything that might help. You have to want to get your life together if it is not going the way you want. I got to that point so I went to rehab and got on methadone. I tried for so long to get to where I am now and I am finally here. I know there are tons of people who are against methadone but it has been a godsend to me. I would rather take methadone and all the negatives that come with it than live the life that I did before. Hands down, no comparison, what I am doing now is working and I am for sure not going to change it for any reason. I am finally starting to utilize my full potential as a person.

why not just stop the dope and any other opiate "Substitute" totally if you have the time to do so?

Its just not that easy. A maintenance program like methadone or suboxone works for a lot of people. The idea being you make the substitution but, you're also breaking the routine of using. It gives people an easier transition from life as a junkie to normal life which are radically different.

I can't stand when people say things like "why use any opiate?". If it were easy enough to leave behind without help than it wouldn't be a problem in the first place. I think this is very hard for people that don't use to understand. Everyone can quit em no problem. Its staying quit that's the issue. This is why a lot of people have to start over because all it takes is a phone call from another head or a drive by your spot an the addict takes over.

OP I'd recommend suboxone or MMT. I'm not gonna lie and say I don't use but suboxone has really cut my oxy use down to nothing. Being where I am I can cop whenever I want and I'm always getting calls from fellow junkies. At first I didn't buy into the trigger thing but, when I really look at it my mindset goes from "I don't need it" to " I have to have it at all costs" over some stupid trigger. Starting over is something most of us will have to do or we will never stop.

There isn't much dope in TO, LOL!

R U kidding?

That's where ALL of the dope in London comes from, and there's plenty of it here if U know where to look.

The Asians run the dope show up in TO, there's not much of an open air market, but there's plenty of dope there, that's for sure.

I'm thinking about picking up a bunch of xanax and trying to sleep throught eh withdrwas, I think that might help take the edge off.

xanax is fun until you get to the point where you cant sleep with out taking them..

You COULD try that to take the edge off, but as chinky mentioned, or rather alluded to, it's pretty easy to get into a cycle of dependence where you can't sleep without them. You're going to be having sleep problems for a while after stopping opiates, unfortunately, and xanax is really only a short-term solution. You may want to go to a doctor to get something less addictive if you really want to get clean without developing a benzo habit to follow up your dope habit.
