I ended up snorting a quarter last night and was not impressed. I felt very relaxed and was kind of hot in the beginning. Then I noticed I was getting sick to my stomach and ended up vomitting three times before I went to sleep. I won't ever do it again. I dosed at 11:00pm and was in the bed by 2:30am. It was not worth the sickness to me. I will stick with other ludes. But I do thank everyone for their advice. I guess that substance just doesn't agree with my body.
What you experienced is completely typical.
First of all, everyone recommended somewhat of a high dose for someone who's never recreationally abused opiates before and doesn't have a tolerance.
20mgs would be the highest recommended recreational dose. 10-15mgs honestly would have made a lot more sense unless you had a natural tolerance. Unfortunantly you took advice from a bunch of drug addicts with no self-control or common sense that honestly have little idea what they're doing.
While you won't get completely wasted, you should easily be able to have an enjoyable time taking no more than 15mgs of oxycodone once a week. If you only use it maybe 3-4 times a month, your tolerance should not climb very much and this should be okay for months. It's an ideal dose for a social situation. Being functional but feeling euphorically good and talking for hours on end.
Also, people have this ridiculous notion that if you're taking a pharmaceutical drug, the only way to get high off it is to snort it. While you can get the effects of the drug within 5-10 minutes, there's no point otherwise. If you simply crush the desired dose of OxyContin and eat it, or take something like Percocet or Percodan which also have oxycodone but no time-release, they will work just fine. They come on after about 30-45 minutes, will kick in smooth, you'll have less of a chance of getting sick since it won't hit your system immediately and the high will be longer and overall more pleasant in a lot of cases.
To directly comment to your body not responding well to oxycodone.. this is nothing unusual either. And it's not so much that your body doesn't respond well. You took a bit more than your body was equipped to handle without a tolerance. Most people get somewhat sick their first few times. It can be avoided by taking smaller doses. You'll get used to it really quick. The opiate high is somewhat of an acquired taste, though. Believe me, though. You're not alone. Many many years ago when I tried oxycodone for the first time via Percocet (OxyContin wasn't on the market yet), I took 25mgs and couldn't move for hours and had to lay on my back because I was so nauseas.
The only thing that really isn't avoidable unless you've heavily abused opiates is the itch. But a lot of people don't mind it at all. It's quickly associated with the high and welcomed by opiate fans.
welll dude....looks like ur REALLY sensitive to opiates...take 1/8...
No, that's not being really sensitive to opiates for someone that's never used them before at all.
There is a good reason why doctors only need to prescribe 5mgs of oxycodone via Percocet maybe two or three times a day to completely resolve any pain.
OxyContin is several doses in one for people suffering from pretty intense pain.. burns, cancer, chronic pain, serious surgery, etc. And someone is not just started out with OC 80's.. they are given to patients who have already acquired an opiate tolerance.
