[TD="class: alt1"]Hi!

I'm currently on 45mg Nardil a day, along with 1.5mg Klonopin a day. My pdoc is a totol idiot and won't prescribe me ANYTHING against my insomnia and weight gain. All i got was Zopiclone, but I'm already addicted to Klonopin as it is, so I won't touch that ****

What she doesn't know however, is that I see a private pdoc from time to time. And I have a meeting with him in just a few weeks. And he prescribes almost anything.

So, here's a list of meds that comes to mind that I'm willing to try along with Nardil. IF they are SAFE that is.

For sleep:
Mirtazapine - 7.5mg Has the famous 5HT1A agonism
Quetiapine - 12.5mg Is apparantly serotonergic, according to my pdoc
Promethazine - Not sure about the dosage yet
Propiomazine - Not sure about the dosage yet
Hydroxyzine - Not sure about the dosage yet

For weight gain and sexual side effects:
Wellbutrin - 300mg dopaminergic of course

For weight gain:
Metmorfin - Don't know any dosage here as I haven't tried it before.

More suggestions are very welcome of course!!

And PLEASE don't guess as this is VERY important stuff!

Many many thanks in advance!!

/Fredrik

You should ask the one doctor whom you trust about possible drug interactions. It's really not good to hold back information from your pdoc, I'm assuming that means primary doctor? You mentioned nine different medications, five of them for sleep.

Right off the top, I can see Phenelzine is contraindicated with Bupropion. You could google each of these to get a better idea of how they effect the brain yourself. Also you might get more responses by posting in Bluelight without pasting the other site's format. Please don't do this.

Yes, I mean my primarly pdoc, not my private one.
I have had over 15 different pdocs over the years, and to my understandning they actually doesn't know THAT much about drugs-interactions, or drugs in gereral for that matter too :( For example, everybody knows that it it safe to combine an SSRI/SNRI with Mirtazapine. But every interaction-checker on the net indicate this combination as RED!! :)
I'm pretty much through asking pdocs for advices anymore. It's the net that holds the "real" information".

But if I narrow it down to Mirtazapine and Quetiapine then? Does anybody have ANY information regarding these two? Would mean a LOT to me!

And I have called different manufactures MANY times regarding various issues. Thay are ALWYAS hyper-over-careful when it comes down to questions like this :( They will most likely answer "NO", before I have even asked an interaction-question :)

And can I have a second opinion regarding Wellbutrin? I have now read that there are many who tries this med for the weight-gain and sexual side-effects.

Thanks!

/Fredrik
