How safe/dangerous is it to measure your blood pressure on stimulants?

I like to keep a track of my heart rate whilst on stims. I would like to do blood pressure as well, but was wondering if there is any danger?
As the cuff works by cutting off the blood supply and measuring it or something, if the blood pressure was particularly high could any long term damage occur as a result of this?

Interesting question. Don't know, maybe a medically-trained/inclined bluelighter can answer it. I'd assume that its safe, but maybe you could cause a panic attack by being high and freaking out about your high blood pressure?

I think you'll be fine. You are only checking for a short period. Just dont forget about it and keep it cut off for hours (difficult, but I'm sure someone could manage to do it).
And if your BP is high, you won't do damage to yourself by checking your BP. That would put a lot of people out there in a tough spot if their BP stayed over a certain level and they couldn't check it.

Absolutely no worry. I'm in med school and I take vyvanse and adderall for adhd and have had friends practice bp on me numerous times. Not to mention, whenever I visit my dr., I'm usually on it and the nurse also takes my bp. But of course listen to RedBaron. Don't inflate the cuff and then take a nap or something. The heart rate worry the media has given prescription stimulants is ridiculous exaggerated. For "somewhat healthy" 30 and under year olds, w/ no existing heart condition, there's no danger when you take the proper dosage. (and even kick it up sometimes)

why would you want to...you know its going to be high....but as for checking...the most that will happen is you will freak out from how high it is

LOL oh man I used to check my blood pressure all the time at either CVS or Wal Mart. It was always ridiculously high, and I would get so upset.

I like to know how my body is being affected. I find litle things like that interesting.

Cheers for the replies everyone!

No danger, i personally like to check my bp and heart rate, no matter what drugs i'm on... Some of my friends think im insane for doing this, but it puts me on ease, also when i'm on something i'm usually at home so there's no problem with it...
