I myself go through it about every 3 to 4 months. 60mg a day percocet habit. Usually I go 7-10 days of no use (Not by choice). Shit sucks but what can ya do.

After going all the way through did you consider not starting back up?
I'm definitely not ready to stop at this time.

I've been through it all the way through four times in the 7 years I've had a habit. I've pent a few hours sick many times.

Whats good cj. :)

Was sick for near a week straight in a hospital coming off of methadone. Fuck that shit.

Now its like i go into wds on that day before payday. Not bad yet, just taking 30mg oxy a day, guess it wont take much longer..

I had one really bad withdrawal when I was addicted to poppies. Had one bad benzo withdrawal when I ran out - I was never so happy to get a drug in all my life, and it was only clonazepam.

The other times were milder and only a few times, I always made sure I could taper if I was going to have a supply or money problem. Only that one bad benzo withdrawal but did have a milder one in the nut house and I took 8mg clonazepam with me (it is easy to sneak it in, they don't strip search you). I knew I'd need it, they wouldn't do anything about your benzo withdrawal in that place.

Not to be too hard on you folks, but if you make a detox plan and stick to it the only time you should get sick is the FIRST time you didnt know any better. Ill be posting my tactics on how to deal with this annoying problem one day cause quite frankly, I know how it is. Since ive formulated these plans through years of research and trial and error...no one has to get sick...ever. However I do use a tough love method and after reading my methods if someone gets sick, they are just being careless and stupid. There is NO reason nor excuse once you know the methods for your personal physiology, no offense. In other words, EVERYONE can be FUNCTIONAL. :P

Was sick for weeks after being put on "rapid 7-day detox" after failing to show up to my groups and appts at the methadone clinic. Ate the shit out of benzos and drank like a full-blown alcoholic to even stay calm.

Ofc, throughout my life I've dealt with WD's constantly (except when I've been clean or am on the right maintenance dosage).

I feel kinda shitty when I wake up before I dose my morning buprenorphine; clammy sometimes, depression, cold.

Dang , what happened with the subs? Man go back to dr booboo. That don'e is going to do more bad then good in the long run, like hell yeah i'd take some if you had some,..just know my limits with the shit, like i'd take 3 methadone 10s rather then *my daily dose of 110mg*.

I got on methadone because of a hydrocodone habit. Turned from eating 6 7.5s a day into 90mg of methadone in 2.5 weeks, that shit staid under my skin..

Yea , dude i gotta get with you on thjs shatter i got. We getn up when i come back thru.

Well, I usually go through mild benzo withdrawls every month for a week or two. It sucks. No opiate widthdrawls though, Got like 5 boxes of Sub.... Have been through w/d's with Pods twice. Just ran out the 1st time then had to go white water rafting with my family, a fun experience that was miserable. The again when I transistioned from Pods to Kratom(fuck that shit, why is it even banned in some states) Oh and one time some mild w/ds from Hydrocodone from an 80mg daily thing goin on for a few months in my honeymoon day then moved so suddenly didn't have any..wasn't that bad, then Paws hit from being on a heavy Pod habbit to pills for 3 months...didn't go away till I got on opiates again. Fuck all that exercise shit, it helps but not that damn much.

My life seems like a constant state of withdrawal due to the time-condensing effect of opioids. 8 hours of nodding is equal to about 5 minutes of sickness. You're never high long enough and you're always sick for too long. Burroughs aptly dubbed this phenomenon "running on junk time".

That shit is deep right there man.

The countdown begins. I see the bottom of the stash and won't get anymore for a week and a half. This is going to suck for about 5 to 7 days.

^Right. "Try to stretch that shit out" is just a cruel example of what little self-control we have. I've heard it a million times, taper yourself, save a shot for later on etc. I see it in action much less.

Ever heard of the 'Chinese Cure'? Again, in "Junkie" by Burroughs he mentions this cure, whereby all of your dope/stash/supply is put into a solution - probably just H20 - and you draw from this store with your needle each time and take your shot. For every syringe full of junk-solution you pull out, you replace it with plain water or what have you. It's pretty logical, as you gradually step down in the form of a proper taper. If I recall correctly, all of the authors junk was gone 2/3 quicker than it was supposed to. Our minds will constantly create exceptions in order to use more.

I just think our nature as addicts makes a clean and efficient taper nearly impossible.

I shake like a motherfucker when I'm sick. Sometimes I get so shaky that I can't hold the rig steady enough to make contact with the cotton. It seems that most people don't get this symptom though. I think it could easily be a result of heightened anxiety and tachycardia, not necessarily a specific effect of withdrawal. I am generally pretty jumpy/jittery, but again, I think this is tied into drug use and withdrawal. I haven't been completely clean for a long enough period to get perspective on the situation.
