I have been taking Now Foods Mucuna Puriens (I know the spelling is wrong), and contains 120mg. Of l-dopa. I take 4 a day and think it might be too much. Should I back down to three? I also take Wellbutrin and Adderall.

To be totally honest you're better off saving your money and spending it somewhere else; most L-DOPA that is consumed is destroyed before it can get to the brain making it little more than an expensive placebo.

I seem to recall you need to administer upwards of like several grams in a dose to get central effects.

Thanks man....I was actually thinking of adding a natural decarboxylase inhibitor such as green tea extract. If not, I am torn between l-tyrosine or dl-phenylanine

L-Tyrosine works pretty good if you ask me. Since you're also not taking a DDCI i'd switch to L-Tyrosine.

I'm a long time opiate user, will this help keep my mood more leveled? I have some pretty depressing days here and there, I looked for dopamine increasing supplements and didn't have much success, I use st johns wort for serotonin, and my multi vitamin and zma supplement.

I would hope so but i don't know how your brain works. In my experience L-Tyrosine works uplifting. I usually take it after stimulant use.

I'll give it a shot, I don't take any rx meds for mood or anything, just natural supplements. I've been off opiates 2 months so I am in paws, used opiates about 10 years so some days I am so depressed I don't.leave my room. Just hoping to help level it out a bit so its not as roller coastery

I hope it helps, good luck man.

I am also a longtime opiate user. I was taking oxycodone and fentanyl for about 3 years then was on 120mgs. Of methadone for 5 years. Been off methadone and ALL opiates for a year now. Even with adderall, I still suffer the anhedonia due to long-term opiate abuse. I have read that dl-phenylalanine is good for the natural pain killing endorphins in the brain. The right handed molecule, the d part, of dl-phenylalanine is suppose to reduce the amount of endorphins being broken down.
Also, weight lifting and 45 minutes of cardio a day followed by 100% pure whey protein ISOLATE. Anyone suffering from depression, anhedonia, etc. Should be drinking whey protein anyways because of the high amount of amino acids. Make sure it's not whey protein concentrate. Just pure whey protein isolate. Now if it is too expensive, there is whey protein that is concentrate and isolate...that would work just fine
