Hello everyone. 2010 was the first year i got into mdma. i saw the band phish a bunch of times and if you know anything about phish, their concerts can be a drug buffet like atmosphere. saw the band about 17 times and took molly at half of those shows.

i'd take it in bursts, there was even a point where i used it 4 days in a row because my friend actually found 7 (yes 7) grams of molly on the ground in connecticut.

overall i don't feel much different, if anything i can be a little bit more moody (somedays i feel great, others not at all) but that's it. i used it roughly every 2 months but normally would take it twice within a week or two.

i am very new here, but my question is, how bad actually is this stuff for you? i wante to continue using it this year, but not at the expense of not being where i want to be mentally for the rest of my life

How bad it is for you depends on you. Some people notice few if any negative side effects while others seem particularly sensitive to even very occasional use.

People will often recommend a minimum of 1 month in between uses, but this is a general guideline. People will use less/more than this with different consequences. So if you want to use MDMA and avoid problems find the frequency and dosage that works for you.

The actual level of harmfulness of MDMA is debatable. Personally I consider it to be one of the safest drugs (if pure), but others may disagree. The harm is not necessarily inherent in the drug itself but how you as an individual use it and react to it.

Very interesting that you think that. I never saw it as a safe drug at all...for me, personally I always felt like LSD took a bigger toll on my brain just because of how far out i'd get.

i love mdma because im still me, i just feel amazing. but i always felt like chemically it probably was more harmful than any other drugs that i've indulged with (L, shrooms, cocaine, etc). i would love to hear your reasoning though

Well I feel that it is really an individual thing, depending on how you react to it. If you feel that MDMA is harmful then maybe that is true for you. I've been rolling more often lately and I can feel it is time to take a break or reduce my frequency, but I feel that overall it has been a benefit to my mental health.

It also has less addiction potential than other stimulant drugs like cocaine. I've been around lots of heavy coke users and MDMA just does not lend itself to this type of use in most people. Sure it's possible to abuse and do enough to get some side-effects, but for most people it's use is eventually self-limiting due to a decrease in positive effects and an increase in negative effects when used too frequently.

I could consider psychedelic drugs like LSD or shrooms to be "safer" in that they are more gentle on the body. But if looking at other drugs such as coke, speed, alcohol, etc., I would consider MDMA to be pretty low on the danger scale.

So you don't see anything bad about abnormally large amounts of serotonin in your brain being released, depleting your regular supply for a period of time? I dont know any other drug that has that chemical of an effect on your brain. Shrooms, acid, coke, and all other drugs only really have a 1 day hangover

I'm more concerned with how MDMA use affects me rather than the results of research studies. The fact that large amounts of serotonin are released does not tell us much when scientists do not fully understand the brain and what particular changes even mean.

I'm certainly not depressed, and I've also been able to stop my near-daily benzo use during a period of using MDMA quite frequently, which leads me to believe that at the very least is not a significant contributor to my general anxiety levels.

Look I'm not saying it's benign and that everybody should go do as much as they want, I just don't think it's necessarily as dangerous as some people make it out to be.

Interesting. I think you have a good perspective on this
