My husband & i take valium after we have had a night on coke to help ease us off to sleep. Can anyone tell me how many 10 mg valium it is ok to take to finish our night off smoothly?
(we will probably do 1g coke each over the period of about 5/6 hours)
Cheers & Hsppy New Year

30-50 mg should be good. Or more if you need it. You really wont run into any problems with Valium unless you take a truck-load of it or mix it with alcohol.

Something nice about benzos like valium is that they don't have much overdose potential. I recall a BLer taking around 150mg. He probably slept for a long while. Also, benzos increase the seizure theshold, so they're ideal to take on a cocaine comedown.
But how much you need is a matter of tolerance, even when I had no tolerance to benzos, I'd still need 30mg of diazepam to feel anything. YMMV

Brilliant, cheers that sounds about right, I usually have a few drinks earlier on in the evening & then take valium @ the end? Is this ok I have done this before without any bad side affects?

Um, 30-50 mg sounds a bit high for someone with no tolerance. Why take more than you need to? It's not cool to be able to do a lot and it's expensive.
Try 20 mg -- that will probably be enough. You can always take more if you need to.
It's alright to have a FEW drinks and some valium, but I don't think 30-50mg and some alcohol is a good idea. Stick to a lower dose of the valium.

I wasn't suggesting that they take 30-50mg after drinking alcohol. Fairnymph is right, for a person with no tolerance 20mg should do the trick, but I up-ed the dose taking into consideration that you guys are gonna be doing a stimulant all night, which might make the Valium a little less effective. Just my two cents.

I'm definantly going to agree here as well.
I see this a lot on Bluelight where people who can handle more drugs than most people seem to forget what it's like when you don't have a lot of experience with drugs and recommend really steep doses for a beginner.
I can go through hundreds of milligrams of oxycodone and easily bang $100 worth of high grade heroin in just a few hours. However I still remember that someone new to oxycodone shouldn't take more than 20mgs. There's just no need and more than that could lead to some problems.
And with benzos, I'm not a regular user by any means. It's not going to get me high, but I can definantly notice *some* effects with just 10mgs of Valium. 20mgs is definantly enough and I don't need anymore.
Now, you may need to take more than 20mgs to counteract the effects of cocaine to get to sleep. However, you should always start out conservatively and work your way up.
It's a good thing to do for several reasons. It reduces the health risks involved with taking drugs. And if you start out taking large doses, you're going to be more likely to use excessively as well as driving your tolerance sky high for no reason almost over night. And there's really no point of getting high if you're going to be too messed up to remember.
Another thing that happens if you really push the limits with your drug use is not only will the drug you're using excessively start disappointing you and make you feel that the high is just never good enough, but it will carry over to a lot of other drugs you use recreationally.
The psychonauts (people who primarily use psychedelics) often have an elitist view that you should only use drugs to get something out of them. And while most psychonauts believe that only psychedelics can give you personal insight, I must disagree. You can gain something from any drug-induced altered state. And I definantly believe it's better to try to seek something more than simply fun from using any drug. However, another reason for not using to great excess is that you're definantly not going to get much out of it that way.
For example, a lot of people often encourage newbies to use massive doses of oxycodone. If you're trying to nod out and get the full blown opiate experience, oxycodone is the wrong drug. But I can definantly ensure you that taking a smaller dose and remaining functional can give you a really worthwhile experience in certain situations. I've had some of the deepest conversations with people high on oxycodone, yet being in control enough that nobody even knew I was on anything.
You're just not going to get anything out of using drugs excessively and destructively other than a fucked up life. I can definantly attest to that.
I also appologize for the long rant. This is what happens when I use lots of heroin but not quite to the point where I'm nodding out.
