How much acetaminophen can pass through a CWE?

I'm guessing this is the right place to post this.

I tried doing a search but so many results were coming back, so I apologize if this question has been asked already at some point in time.

Just to clarify the title of the thread:

When doing a Cold Water Extraction on opiates containing acetaminophen, what percentage (roughly) would you guys say ends up getting in the 'filtered' end product?

To be even more specific, I'm talking about using 2 coffee filters (not an old t-shirt or whatever else people use.)

I understand this may be a hard question to answer, but I didn't think it could hurt to ask.

I know the MAJORITY of the acetaminophen will not pass through the coffee filters and just end up as white gunk sitting on the filter, but am I wrong in thinking that at least SOME of it manages to pass through?

I'm asking because I know that it's not recommended to exceed 4000mgs of acetaminophen in 24 hours due to the potential negative effect it can have on the liver.

I'll even throw out a hypothetical number. If I was CWEing something and the total amount of tylenol was 7500mg, how much do you think would get through, if any?

Thanks!

Depends on the temperature of the water, the colder the water the less soluable the apap is.I've let a cwe go overnight and gotten crystal clear water, ive also got impatient and got some murky water but there probably wasnt more the 300-500mg in it at the most which is nothing really.

You should have below a 100 mg if you use the proper amount of water. Even less with less water.

Acetaminophen will not supersaturate water at all, you can filter out 1/2 to 3/4 of it just by dissolving your tablets and running it through a filter at room temp (70 degrees). Again, it all depends on the amount of water you use.

Depending on how many tablets you have and how much water you use, you can’t possibly mess this up even if you tried.

The less water you use the more efficient your extraction will be.

It doesn’t take as much water as you think to dissolve these tablets.

Okay perfect.

What you two said is exactly the way I was thinking about it.

I filter it while in the fridge, so the water temp stays pretty damn cold.

And as to the amount of water I use...I'd say between 20 and 30ml (just guessing).

According to that, I should be good with very very little acetaminophen going through.

Once again, thanks!

Edit: By the way, just thought I'd mention this. Everytime I filter it, the end product is just as clear as water. It's just when I start to leave it too long or "agitate" it, is when I see some very lightly "milky" drops fall through the filter. That's the point where I stop the process.

You can let it filter in the fridge.

This will keep it cold.

Also, don’t take too long to filter, while it warms up, more acetaminophen falls back into solution.

Exactly.

My stuff normally filters through within one hour +/- 10 mins. When I take it out of the fridge the acetaminophen is a hard gunk stuck all over the filter.
