How many rolls before you "lose the magic"?

I just started ecstasy. Popped twice (once on its own, one candyflip), and after reading the forum I became paranoid about the infamous loss of magic you all talk about.

From what I gathered it's a result of doing your rolls too close to each other and sometimes even your total number of rolls irrespective of the amount of time between those.

While I understand that it depends on the individual, I'd like too know how many roll you got in you on average before you lose the magic (i.e. everyone can post their personal count)

well i usually wait at least 3 weeks between rolls, i still haven't lost the magic but the effects are a little less than what they use to be. but that nothing a second pill cant fix.

i say if you roll twice every weekend, you are going to lose the magic very shortly.

People that say they have "lost the magic", go on extreme binges for extended amounts of time. Personally I am in the 40s and it has been 9 months since I started rolling and I have no "loss of magic" feelings. My best-friend who took his first pill about 1 year 9months ago, but did not roll again until Oct 2009, so around a full year after his first pill to his second. But after his second pill he went on a binge, and from Oct 2009-June 2010 he has consumed around 300 pills. He feels the physical/mental effects/withdrawls of ecstasy, but suffers no "loss of magic". However, he has accumulated a heavy tolerance, not in the amount it takes to roll but the duration of his rolls. He has to redose every hour or so, he can still roll just his tolerance is up.

I don't know about "magic loss", but I've been dosing pretty frequently (2-3 pills per week for 2 weeks) and am noticing far more side effects with each roll. The first time, there were literally NO side effects to speak of...now I get extreme diarrhea, nausea and cramping on the come up. Also, I get a weird "head rush" feeling that's kind of like blacking out during the onset. The pleasant afterglow the next day is slightly less pleasant, but that could be due to different pills, lower dose (been taking 1/2 a pill last few times) or god knows what.

My supply will be cut off soon, possibly permanently, so this is definitely a short-lived thing. Rolled for my first time a couple weeks ago and enjoyed it very much! :)

ive been using for 2.5 years, and next week will be my 20th roll. Its still VERY good for me, almost as good as the first time usually, but the side effects are starting to get bad in my case. insomnia, depression, and anxiety out the ass can usually be felt for a few days after. its been 3 months since i've dropped so i'm really hoping my side effects will be pretty light this time.

Exactly. It was really surprising to see how much side effects were increased with only my second roll.

Though the fact that I mixed with acid and only spaced my two rolls by 10 days may have played a role, the second roll was clearly less clean than the first: I had to puke 2 or 3 times, it felt much more amphetaminish/speedy, I crashed moderately on the comedown (thank God I was past the LSD peak by then!) while I only had a nice afterglow the first time.

Very unpredictable shit.

MDMA is my special once in awhile psychoactive for this reason (loss of magic) and I REALLY love the feeling I get. The recommended MINIMUM between rolls is one month to give yourself time to recover can you roll more often once in awhile without loss of magic sure. Alot of folks (at least from what I can deduce) seem to go way over board and to some degree abuse MDMA and in turn lose the magic. The key is moderation and self control, just cause you can eat 14 pills don't mean you should like wise just cause you can roll every weekend don't mean you should. If you practice self control and moderation you won't lose your magic.

You threw up? I know some people have stomach problems with MDMA but 2-3 times sounds like a methbomb to me. Need to always test your rolls...

Are you sure you're not taking piperazines?

Nope, it's definitely a possibility. I know that testing is the only way to be 100% sure, but I also go out of my way to check with my supplier and review the pill reports beforehand, all of which have been great, if not stellar. Many of the pills that looked identical to mine and came from the same region had been tested and sampled with great reviews across the board. Several people even said they were the "best they'd ever had."

I know this does not ensure purity, but it's a bit more reliable than picking up cheap pills from a stranger and taking several at a time with no prior research whatsoever. Since I don't know for sure, I always start with a small dose and avoid mixing with other drugs. Aside from the increasingly nasty come-up, the effects are completely in step with everything I've read about MDMA--feelings of lightness in the body, heightened senses, empathy, relaxed stimulation and extreme enthusiasm/euphoria.

My gf lost the magic after her first roll. It took me years of frequent abuse to lose mine and I got it back once after a two year break. I only recently lost it again after a week long binge a year and a half back. It's completely subjective and there is no way of knowing, so space it out and enjoy the honeymoon while it lasts =)

This is complete and utter twaddle.

Rolling is like a movie. Remember the shower scene? That first time it hits you and you jump high. Each time you watch it has less of a WOW factor. Thats what happens with mdma.

"Loss of magic" and the journey each person goes on with MDMA is a very personal thing- some people notice diminishing effects after 2 tries, some never really do (lucky and rare!). I don't think "loss of magic" can be entirely avoided by spacing out rolling- a lot of people who never "over do it" notice a decrease in the desired effects at a certain point. I think a lot of it is related to your own brain chemistry...I wouldn't say my "magic" is gone, but MDMA feels like a different drug than it used to. Some effects are the same, but the bright, clear euphoria....the thinky/talky part...totally gone. I still feel compassionate, affectionate...but not extremely. These were my favorite elements of MDMA- I now find I get very floored and feel at total peace, which some people prefer and feel is a sign of good MDMA. On a good note, I no longer am unable to sleep afterwards, and I can usually eat the next day.

Although MDMA effects people differently, what I've noticed is not how many pills you take, but how frequently you take them. Suppose you take E every 2-3 months.. it's not likely you'll ever lose the 'magic' because you give your brain ample to upgrade your neurotransmittors (specifically serotonin, norepinephrene, dopamine) and your brain will return to full functionality.

However, if you start taking taking it every weekend, or multiple days out of the week, you'll definitely start to notice a reduction of the effects that will begin to fade immediately. there can be a permanent loss of "magic" for some people because they have taken it so frequently in their life and abused the drug, rather than moderate it.

Simply put, it's not likely (depends on person again, people react differently to drugs) that you will ever lose the magic as long as you use in moderation and not take it on a frequent basis.

I know plenty of moderate long time losers that lose the magic. They just don't lose it in a year or two. Generally takes a few years. Only took my gf one try to lose the magic. She did it again a LONG while later (several months) and a few times after that and it was no good. It's all dependent on brain chemistry. Spreading it out can help, but loss of magic will happen to everyone eventually. Just depends on the person.
