Benzos how many mgs of xanax does it take to od on with no tolerance?

i have 1 mg xanax and just one feels pretty good but im sure more would be better. i dont have any benzo tolerance at the moment so like how much would you recommend taking at once to get the most out of them without taking enough to be at risk of oding? it probably various from person to person but im just looking for a ball park number, i dont have that many of them anyway

unless you've taken other CNS depressants, like opiates or alcohol, 1-2mg is nothing to worry about in terms of overdosing. The LD50 is extremely high and most fatal OD's are a result of combining a benzodiazepine with alcohol or with opiates.

thanks for answering. i took vyvanse today but it was like 10 hours ago so its mainly worn off. but just curious would taking amphetamines at the same time as benzos be dangerous or no?

"Dangerous" as in "OD risk"? No.
"Dangerous" as in "doing really dumb things because Amps give you energy while Benzos decrease your inhibitions" and "developing a serious case of poly-drug addiction"? YES.

The sick thing about benzos is that it is nearly impossible to OD on them by themselves (we're talking about hundreds if not thousands of Xanax bars if animal studies are any indication), but physical withdrawal is absolutely grueling and can easily lead to life-threatening seizures.

Yep, as others have said, you don't have to worry about an OD on Xanax alone. You'll black out and will wake up somewhere weird (like jail) long before that ever happens.

pretty terrible? It's by far the worst addiction of any drug class, it's pretty hard to dispute this.

If taken theraputically, this combination is benign. I am prescribed both by a psychiatrist. And this isn't just any jack-in-the-box psychiatrist, he is supposedly one of the best in NJ, as well as a leading addictions specialist in the nation. I doubt he'd be so oblivious and reckless by giving me Adderall and Klonopin at the same time.

Now if I were to decide to abuse them, certainly- horrible combo that would get out of control fast. But therapeutically, it's completely benign.

can't OD but you can take enough to black out and possibly wake in jail or somewhere not knowing wtf you did

You'd basically have to raid a pharmacy to get enough xanax to OD.

All that being said You still have no reason to take more than 2 mg. If 1 mg gets you feeling nice twice that amount will be more than enough. Remember going overboard on xanax is not going to kill you necessarily but ask anyone around here, the consequences are usually much worse. For example: Black out and wake up in jail because you find out you were in a bar and decided the best way to pick up a girl was by peeing on them and that was you showing confidence or "asserting your male dominance! What chick wouldn't love it!" As a friend of mine tried to explain two minutes before he peed on a girl and about 10 minutes before he ended up in a fight with the police saying "I didn't do nothing!"

One of my favorite Xanax stories was the guy who woke up from his blackout, couldn't find his cellphone, and eventually located it in his grill outside...apparently he had put it there, sprayed it with lighter fluid and set it on fire LOL

Or the guy who woke up to find out that he purchased dozens of flat screen TVs

One element of Xanax blackout stories that seems to consistently happen is waking up and not being able to find your wallet and all your drugs.

Xanax is not a drug where "one is nice, two is better"... if you double your dose you will probably just nuke your memory and act like a doofus.

I once took 90 2mg Xanax bars and didn't die (tried to kill myself, long story) but please don't be a moron like I was, lol. Vyvanse and Xanax won't hurt you but 2mg should be plenty. You may even just fall asleep if the Vyvanse was taken earlier in the day. If not, don't expect to remember much.
