^that kinda intermittent eating pattern probably won't help you lose weight very efficiently, and most defintely not a healthy way of doing it, if anything you're more likely to put it on.

Anyone (except maybe guido - steroid king) eating 6-7 meals a day, needs to eat slightly bigger meals until you start to get that full feeling, making sure not to combine proteins with carbs (just veg) and vice versa, and then you will find this is giving you exactly what you need. You won't have to eat so often. I used to eat 5- 6 times a day, my metabolism is also fast, and when I'm working hard I get hungry yeah, but actually eating every 4 hours burns off fat and toxins a bit, just by waiting an extra hour or so - if you lose weight, trust me that's not weight you want.

Also I cannot stress enough for people with fast metabolisms the necessity of taking 20 minute power nap any day possible between 1 & 4, and also intermittent fasting - skipping breakfast on the days when you don't have much physical work to do, days off etc - I know it may seem like a long stretch to do it, the first couple of times you'll be so hungry it hurts - but it's very good for you, burning up toxins and slowing your metabolism by putting it into starvation mode(5 hours +).

Oh shit one last thing - no heavy workouts! (unless you're alright with dying 20 years too early) - our metabolisms aren't made for it, go for lighter exercises like astanga yoga, swimming, some martial arts, shit like that - isometrics and some plyometric exercises.

I personally now eat 4 meals per day, and have been putting on weight steadily, and muscle, without working really hard at it.

2-3 meals a day? I am shit skinny and I never have much of an appetite nor gained any muscle or fat.
I've been trying to lift some weights and do stuff but I feel too lethargic, sometimes if I wake up in the morning I'll be dead tired by 6-7pm without having done anything.

Boost your appetite by using digestive spices (predominantly raw ginger, but black pepper, cumin, coriander, ginger powder and fennel seed) - the ginger before meals - sliced thin. You will find your appetite returning - if you're real skinny chances are your digestion is irregular(sometimes constipated(slow), sometimes alright, sometimes very quick?), which means you just need to give it a boost so it keeps steady - mine's like that, with a tendency towards being fiery and fast over constipated.

If your strength is low - you don't wanna really be doing weights - I would suggest compound body weight exercises - dips, squats, lunges, pushups, situps, inverted rows etc, with just enough cardio to get the blood pumping.

I've been doing better - I've now gone from just eating lunch to having breakfast, lunch and dinner. Healthier eating habits ftw :)
It's actually helping me lose weight, too.

I didn't vote because it varies so much. When I'm at home I graze throughout the day. When I'm at school, I barely eat.

I'm a pretty dedicated weight trainer and found that 4-5 meals a day keeps my energy levels up to my particular liking. Always good sources of carbs, fats, and protein.

Same, have to have 6 or more to hit my macros so I can hit my goals. With the amount of cardio I have to do it's even harder. The bigger I get the more I realize I am essentially force feeding myself.

I know that is not at all healthy and I have been doing better the last few days - making myself eat more regularly even when I don't want to (someone else told me I needed to eat more regularly like maybe the day after I posted this, which I already knew - just wasn't doing it anyway). I just kind of stopped feeling hungry much 2 or 3 months ago (I had been eating way too much before that).

You are also right about the weight thing - I know that from experience (made even worse because I would usually not eat breakfast or just eat a few bites, maybe a somewhat large snack or small meal for lunch more days than not, and stuff myself at night and usually eat another snack or two in the middle of the night - this was before I stopped feeling hungry all the time).

That said, I weighed 326lb about 2 months or so ago and was down to 285.4 maybe 5 or 6 days ago on the same scale. I don't think I have ever taken off half that much weight before (and always put it back on, and usually more) and have been trying to lose weight off and on for at least 10 years.

I guess it is because I have been eating way too little for the most part during this period. I also know it probably is not good for you to lose weight that fast at all - probably quite bad for you.

I have made a conscious effort to make myself eat more regularly the last week or so - still haven't been eating breakfast but I have drank a slim fast shake (I'm a man. Those may be for women, but I don't care) in place of food for breakfast five of the last seven days. I've eaten what I think is a fairly normal meal in the early afternoon during this time as well - skipped that only once, I think. I know I've eaten every evening during that time - not really late like I used to do either and not large meals. I checked my weight again yesterday and it showed 284.9, so pretty much unchanged over that period - so I guess that's okay.

I know I could still improve my eating habits, but I am not doing nearly as bad as when I posted the previous message.

I like to eat every few hours. My problem is that I love fruit and I love vegetables. I don't like meat all that much so I am constantly low on protein. As I age, I feel the effects of little to no protein and I have to drink protein shakes to try to make up for my eating habits.

It is actually better for your metabolism to have 5 small meals instead of 3 big ones. It keeps your metabolism moving at all times, and your energy high.

That's a common misconception. I used to believe it too for the longest time. More important is how many calories you eat and what kind of energy they provide, rather than when you eat them. Yes, it is good to have carbs during a workout, and protein after as well, but those are minor nutrient-timey specific instances for exercise, among other little "rules."

I eat 1 or more meals a day. Sometimes, if I am lucky enough to have nothing to do, I'll be eating every hour from wake up to bed time. It's called grazing I think.

I eat once a day, sometimes I go without eating anything at all. I'm trying hard to eat regular meals but it makes me feel "disgusting" for wanting/or eating food. It's a child hood thing for me I'm trying to get over shit.
