I wanted to ask on average how many days it would be for one to feel the WD
of suboxone after taking them for a year at approx 2-6mg's per day?
And i have seen varying opinions on the degree of WD's from sub?
I remember coming off oxycontins,it took about 26 hours for the WD's to start and got worse each passing day
for over a week of misery then it still felt horrible but the extreme stuff tapered off.
is it pretty much the same with stopping subs?

This thread can easily be sorted by a google or BL search. Bupe WDs are milder than full agonist withdrawal (oxy, dope) but may last round a month give or take.

Totally different, OC! The length of time it takes to start WD's and the length of the actual WD depends highly on the elimination half-life and dosage one stops at. For the average metabolism, Oxy's half-life is around four hours and bupe's is on average 36 hours, but can be up to three days, again depending on how long one has been on bupe and the dose one stops at. When SWIM came off of bupe, he stopped at .5mg. And the mental WD started right away, but the physical WD always seemed to break through around day four, as SWIM has stopped a few times before last.

When SWIM came onto BL in search for hope, it was day seven, and SWIM was unbelievably depressed. In fact, it was the worst depression SWIM had encountered, keeping in mind he had been treated for it for several years, only to have stopped meds and to find out the bupe was covering it up the whole time. So, your main concern from day one of sobriety is to seek out a psychiatrist, or see your PCP. The depression was the main thing that kept the idea of relapsing so easy.

So, just throwing some numbers around, you can expect to START to feel relief from post acute WD's a month and a half (45days) to two months (60days). SWIM sought professional help way too late and just only made it harder for himself. Another number that SWIM felt important was day 145--that's the last day he stopped counting. So make it easier on yourself and get help right away, because you will need it unless you want to relapse a few times first.

Final thoughts, SWIM sees a psychiatrist every 3-4 weeks and is on Wellbutrin SR (for the motivation one will lack) one SSRI (for the low serotonin and lack of happiness) and an SNRI for the norepinephrine, a combo of anxiolytics--Klonopin and Neurontin (GREAT COMBO)--a sleep aid, and finally and surprisingly Lorcet 10's 4x a day, as SWIM just had a procedure. SWIM hasn't had to rely on bupe for over 300 days(lost track), and hasn't felt more comfortable with life, as life seems possible now. Feel free to PM me...Thanks.aBunch at Rocketmail [dot] com. Good luck, and it will get easier.

One week... youll feel lame before but will really start in a week.

And will last two more weeks..
If you like weed, get a lot of weed, youll probably need to shower atleast twice a day, you wont have energy but keep your surroundings clean ,wash your sheets, get food, have company
good luck

That totally depends on dosage, time and individual reaction. For me it started at day 2 and 3 and only lasted about one week more. Its day 10 and instead of insomnia I don't have symptoms anymore. But I only took 1mg a day and tapere down.

It's different for everybody. People's metabolisms are different so some people get sick faster than others.

For some people, me included, I start feeling withdrawal from suboxone less than 24 hours after my last dose, sometimes even 12 hours if I'm on a low dose.. others don't begin to get sick for a couple days. It varies.

thanks for the replies.
I see it varies from person to person and there is no real way to predict what my experience will be.
since i have to get off them i will just have to endure like i did when comin off the OC's.
the depression/ lack of energy and motivation is my most hated part of it.
makes the days seem like forever

Great post grand tour, but using SWIM ruined it making it annoying as hell to read.

To the OP I fell off at 6mg and had physical withdrawals for almost 3 months. Nothing like the intensity of heroin withdrawal. My main complaint was profuse coldsweats for that time. I couldn't put out any physical exertion.

Yeah it sucks but you can get through it. Detoxing from bupe is kind of a double edged sword. Yes, the withdrawals aren't as severe is full agonist withdrawals, but they last for so much longer that is basically evens out in the end.

I'd rather go through a week or two or really miserable H withdrawals then months of mediocre bupe ones.
