Here's the situation fellas. I intend on producing myself some codeine solution, not specifically for recreational use but more as a handy medication for cough suppression. I'll be mass producing it for personal use, and ideally storing it in blacked out bottles (to prevent the breakdown of the codeine as a result of sunlight). Obviously, the codeine will be obtained by performing a cold water extraction on co-codamol (weak stuff, 8/500).
As a result, I have a few questions. Please only answer if you have a reason to know - speculation doesn't tend to prove overtly helpful.
I greatly appreciate any help you fellas can give me!
As a result, I have a few questions. Please only answer if you have a reason to know - speculation doesn't tend to prove overtly helpful.
- Is there any reason for the solution to become less potent over a three-monthly period?
- Would it potentially be better for the sake of storage to simply evaporate the water from the solution, and store as a solid?
- If it would be easier/more viable to evaporate the water, what method of doing this would be most suitable (as not to destroy the precious codeine)?
I greatly appreciate any help you fellas can give me!
