How long does it take to get smoke fentanyl out of your system so you can start Suboxone? I'm a 43 year old female who is 5 6 and 170 lbs....

You don't have to stop smoking at all! This is all part of my doctors plan for me BTW. You can keep smoking while getting onto subs. Just start at a really low dose of sub. Like a half a MG. The goal is to taper off fent completely Yes but you can completely counteract the sickness that the fent causes by smoking it. If that makes sense. Like Yes, if fent is in your system while you take subs it'll put you into precipitated withdrawal but all you have to do to get out of that withdrawal is smoke a few hits of fent and you're good to go. I was smoking like a half gram a day now I'm up to 12mg subs and about $5 worth of fent a day

That's a rather progressive sounding doctor, but his methodologies are somewhat sound. There is just more liability for him by having suggested such technically speaking, but even if you did end up ODing on fent and dying I doubt he'd even see any major lawsuit come his way for recommending an unorthodox approach to getting a patient on suboxone honestly. Thanks for sharing because this is the first I have heard of such being recommended by a medical professional. I'm honestly not sure I am an advocate of this method all things considered, but I can see in VERY rare cases where it may be a useful method to get someone onto MAT who desperately needs it and refuses to do so otherwise. Its just extremely risky compared to just coming off the fentanyl for as long as you can tolerate before beginning the suboxone. I'm sure there are safer methods of getting someone off fentanyl and onto suboxone without suggesting they keep smoking the fentanyl, but I am too tired to be bothered to think up such a thing right now. It will be food for thought for later for me; thanks again!
