How long is safe to drink after taking Vicodin?

Hi everyone,
I've been prescribed Vicodin (5-325) and have been taking four to five pills a day for the last week (one every 4-5 hours). Looking forward to a party this weekend and may be drinking quite a bit of alcohol. I haven't drunk in months, and only do a few times a year. How many hours or days after taking my last Vicodin would it be safe for me to drink?

Personally I don't like taking prescription drugs and alcohol. I've known people that have had a heart attack and died from these experiences. I also know that there are antibiotics that make you puke if you sip a beer before you flush it out of your system, which is why I don't mix alcohol with prescription drugs unless I know what I'm doing.

I would recommend taking the alcohol moderate to easy. Taking prescription drugs with alcohol only increases the damage to your liver (acetaminophen does this; Tylenol also has this compound). It's not going to kill you if you drink to get buzzed not hammered. So if you normally take 10 shots at a party, take it easy and take 7 shots. Don't get overboard and go easy on yourself. Hydrocodone is a fun drug it will help you relax.

I was prescribed hydrocodone after my surgery, but I ended up not taking a single pill.
On a side note Vicodin is not like Xanax. If you take Xanax and consume a lot of alcohol you can pass out, piss your pants and potentially die. My friend pissed his pants. I blacked out at some point in the night after drinking 2~3 beers and I normally drink 6~7 beers easy.
