Hypothetically speaking I have a small stash of marijuana that has been in the same spot for nearly a year and it has remained untouched. Would i still be able to get high off of it or would it be basically worthless now?

Why are you saying hypothetically? that's not going to hold up in a court case and youre not going to get busted for a bag of weed....

It should be good, if it has mold or anything on it dont smoke it but I heard some story of weed found in some guys tomb from a few hundred years ago and it was still smokeable. Enjoy blazing bro

Peace

i found a bag from a year ago, it was some medical kush and seemed a little dry, but I instantly rolled a join and got good results. Ull be good 2 go.

Depending on how it was stored like if it was in some bag vs. being cured and in an airtight jar it may have lost some potency or it may be OK if just rather dry.

I've heard that with herb that's old and not properly stored the CBD/CBN comes out more. In my experience I had this happen when my dad's friend found a dugout and it was a few years old and we smoked out of it and I did get high but I could feel the CBD/CBN as well as the THC.

Make sure it's not moldy and smoke or vaporize it.

actually, it was from around 4000 years ago.
and while it was smokeable it was completely void of potency,
as in, the cannabinoids etc had completely degraded.
the trichomes were still there and visible, but they had completely degraded in potency.
you could smoke the whole lot and not get high.

They found like a half O on a chinese mummy before. You should be okay. Mummy bud is the shit!
^this is the same story as above.
it wasnt a mummy it was a tribal shaman/medicine man.

I was going to write 4000 years ago then I thought that it was bullshit and i'd get flamed haha.
But i'm guessing that one year will be alright compared to 4000

and what a chiller that mummy guy must have been

Yeh a year is fine , no worries there.
I've just dug out the last of my stash from three years ago tonight , been saving it as it's the best Indica I have and very good medicine. %) Although a little dry it's still perfectly smokable and enjoyable ... has just been in a box in a ziplock bag the whole time. Plastic is porous so the bud will still dry out over time , glass is a little less porous and can be better but depends on how much 'air' it's exposed to so a small nugget in a large jar will still dry out over time.

Also , it's true that some of the THC is thought to convert into CBD when aged ... from experience this certainly seems to be the case. To me this isn't such a bad thing at all as potent sativa seems to dominate my stash around here and curing/aging it a while can really have it's benefits in the quality of high and/or medicinal effects. :)
Aswell it will start to degrade in potency over time ... I've heard that after a year it can start to degrade and I'm sure there has been some studies about it but I think it's pretty minimal and besides ... show me someone else who can make their stash last for so long anyway lol (Lets just say I'm quite the collector and save small amounts of variety for extended periods of time so I never get stuck with one particular option/strain ... I know of noone else who does this though). Also , it's not like burning the buds to smoke doesn't destroy much of the actives anyway ... yet we still get what's desired.

After 4000 years it seems that it's completely degraded ^ haha , but then their quality of ziplock bag back then was truly dismal :D ... The oldest find of Cannabis thought to be used for smoking puposes directly due to the other equipment found along with it was more like 2700 years I think ... whereas other finds have been linked to more passive sacraments. (burnt at alters etc). Was Indeed a Chinese Shaman but I cannot remember if he was mummified (with fabric) or not ... from memory it was the special type of clay and dry environment that preserved everything so well. The Cannabis in this find was found to be high in psychoactives. =D

Cheers.

it did look like some proper bomb shit, eh

Mason jars are for drinking iced tea. I wonder if there were any viable seeds from the mummy weed. It would be interesting to see what strain they preferred back then.
