I normally take 3 800mcg Actiq pops and 3 80mg OC's a day. I just had my last weeks worth of this stuff stolen. I have had a perfect slate as a patient for the past 12 years and I just can't bring myself to go in to the doctor and tell them this as it sounds like a bunch of BS since so many people do so. Plus the insurance would not pay for a few more days anyway. So I am, to say the least, not feeling well. The pain it bad and the withdrawals are worse. I have the ability to get some Methadone which would take away the withdrawal symptoms but I get UA's when I go to my pain docs and if anything shows up in my system that they did not describe it would ruin my relationship for life so I am wondering how long Methadone can be detected. From what I have read online it could be more than a week. If so I will just go without and be miserable. Just wanted to make sure. They have tested me in the past and had given me Dilaudid one month when I was waiting for insurance approval on the pops. Even so they wrote this up as an "incident" which I was not very happy about as I was taking something THEY prescribed me! So I know that they may not just test to see that I only have the opiods and benzos that I am supposed to be taking but will narrow down to just what the medications are. If the Methadone can be out of my system I would take them for a day or two. I can get 10mg pills and taking 4-5 of them at a time would help a little. Obviously with my doses nothing is going to do much but if I can get away with it I will. If not I will suffer.
It sucks because I have never lied to them and am not lying now. I could perhaps go to the ER and get a 6-8mg IV shot of Diludid which would make me feel better for one day but that would seem strange because since taking the pops I have not needed the ER for pain control for the past 7 years. I usually am at the highest level of trust so I get 3 months worth of scripts at a time. I have 10 days until refills but am going to try to get in a few days early as I have had some dental work that is a legit excuse for taking more pops since I do not get pain meds from any other source including the dentist.
