Alcohol How long does it take to become physically addicted to alcohol ?

I am a drinker i either drink beer or red wine, no mixing them. Its either 4 - 8 beers in a day or a bottle of red wine, on rarer ocasions i will drink some whiskey or vodka. This has been going on for about a year when i quit benzos. I started using alcohol to take the edge off and help me sleep after i had gone through withdrawl and it remained a habit, i am curious as to how long it would take to start being physically addicted to alcohol and how nasty would the withdrawl be compared to clonazepam withdrawl .... would it have the same seizure potential, also would it be as lengthy as clonazepam withdrawl ? i have tried not drinking for 2 days and i did not seem to be going through withdrawl .. maybe just a little more jittery than my usual anxious state but nothing terrible. Problem is i am starting to get regular liver pains and i dont want to fully destroy the thing so i thaught it would be a good idea to quit ... but then i would not get enough sleep ... its a vicious circle of idiotic dependencies.

if anyone could shed some light on the time-frame of alcohol addiction that would be of great help, thank you.
If you can quit 2 days and not have a seizure from the alcohol, youre ok from seizures. Quit for a week and see if you can make it. I’m on day 7 at 3 pm today. The first 5 days were hell but I feel so much better now. My only pain is the original pain I was born with… sadness and depression. People recommend counseling but I’ve accepted I’m a sad person. And I’m ok with crying a few times a day. I enjoy my feelings. It helps with art

clorazepate is amazing. It’ll knock out the withdrawal symptoms but give you no euphoria like Xanax. If you’re heavy like a 5th every single day for a month or more, the time frame is
Day 1: 12 to 24 hours you start feeling mild to severe withdrawal. Shakes, anxiety, sweating. Everyday I literally had nightmares till my 5th day.

Day 2: it gets WORSE. This and day three you are at risk of seizures which CAN kill you
Day 3: height of withdrawal and chances of seizures still high.
Day 4: start feeling slightly better but still shitty
Day 5: delerium tremens- you’re head is like it’s in a fish tank. You will be confused and lost minded but it’ll be better every day after this. Some people it goes on longer. But
Day 6: you start getting your head back Symptoms taper down
Day 7: I’m on right now and feel so much better. A little cold and clammy. No sleep still but no nightmares when I do. Things will be ok.

Clorazapate is great. Be honest with your doc and they can get you a successful taper and you can avoid almost ALL the withdrawal symptoms. Stay strong. Go to the doctor, especially if you feel a seizure come on. And also keep a bag to breathe in and out of when panic attacks come on
