I'm on day two into my detox off of dilaudid and Morphine as well as Fentanyl. Most recently though I've has been using around 30-40 mgs of hydromorphone to get high, using two to three times a day to continue his high. What I would like to know is how long will it take for my tolerance to drop significantly? I'll will be able to get dilaudid again in just over two weeks and was wondering if that might be enough to drop his tolerance by at least half. I'm is new to posting here, though he has been using this site for about two to three years now. I'm sorry if this question has been asked recently and, if it has already been asked and answered in a close enough way to my question, please post a link so that I may find this information. I would really appreciate it! :)

Well, apart from the annoying swim pet fish references, YOUR tolerance probably wont go down too much in that short of a time frame. Two weeks you said? Ah i just looked at the tolerance scale for the drugs you are using from wikipedia and it said tolerance will be. 70984305 % what it was when you stopped. Joking here...also just remember the longer you give it the better, but also to start off slow after a break, cuidate:-)

Dont mind the first dude, he's got the short end of the stick if you know what I mean. Sorry I dont have anything further to contibute, but they dont use "swim" or "my pet frog" on here anymore. Just say "if one were to have a high tolerance of x, would they be cool in 2 weeks, or would they have to..." or something like that.

Personally Id think 2 weeks would be an awesome way to drop their tolerance, I cant imagine a 2 week absence wouldnt significantly drop them back down. Im a big pothead myself and when I take my breaks 2 weeks is the perfect amount. Theyll love getting blasted off tiny amounts again. Good luck dealing with the cravings :D

If you are currently using hydromorphone and getting high, your tolerance will not improve.

If you are completely clean of all opiates, 2 weeks should at least be a noticeable drop in tolerance. With opiates however, it can be mentally difficult to dose at or below actual tolerance. Say you know 40 mgs gets you high, and in 2 weeks of abstinence you could get high with 20mgs. It is difficult to stick with 15-20 mg. The tendency will be to want to take more than you need too soon, and quickly increase your tolerance again.

either way once tolerance drops, it will accrue again rapidly. There's no winning with opiates. You could be clean for 5 years and within one week be back to your highest dose.

Two weeks did nothing for my tolerance, but I was using lower doses over the course of two yearsif that makes a difference.

Well thank you to everyone. Sorry, I couldn't remember if I should use swim or not, and I'm quite happy they did away with all of that. I am not currently using (day three no opiates with somehow no wd's, though I use loperamide everyday so that is most likely why) and I don't plan on using for at least two weeks, then only using the one time before waiting. I won't be able to pick up enough to continue my habit. I've been clean before (8 months off of using morphine, heroin, fentanyl) and when I started up again I was able to nod off of 2 7.5 mg tabs. I've never gone only two weeks. And for some odd reason I have little to no cravings at all. This is usual for me when I quit. At least until someone offers me something. But thank you Toucan, I may just take you up on that.
