Yeah, "awake" is a good way of putting it, because IME the euphoric effects end after a maximum of 6 hours (though its usually more like 3-4), so (@OP), you might find yourself coming down rather soon, after which, you'll experience some peripheral stimulation which lasts a couple of hours and can be a bit uncomfortable-though you might get away with a smooth comedown, as its your first time using amphetamines.
Adderall is a mixture of amphetamine salts, and is basically 75% Dextroamphetamine and 25% Levoamphetamine. Dextroamphetamine is the one responsible for adderall's euphoric properties and CNS stimulation, whereas Levoamphetamine is responsible for physical stimulation (its a PNS stimulant), and general "tweakyness". Levoamphetamine and Levomethamphetamine are generally not desired for their lack of CNS stimulation, and unfortunately Levoamphetamine also acts longer than Dextroamphetamine, which is why people often find themselves tired-but unable to sleep, and hungry-but unable to eat hours after the initial euphoria ended. The one good thing that the inclusion of Levoamphetamine provides is that it increases stimulation in general, wheras Dextroamphetamine alone can sometimes feel too smooth and calming, to the point that its not as effective by itself (for some).
