Haven't logged in in awhile (over a month) and expected to have at least a hundred unread subscriptions (since I'm subscribed to 1000+), only to find that I had twenty unread upon logging in.

It appears the cut-off date for posts being displayed as "new" is a week--Is this assumption correct?

I've run in to this as well, when I came back from Alaska I had not been on since the upgrade and yet all sorts of things that I had certainly never seen before were marked as read. I dont know what the cut off date is, thats a very good question... we'll have to find a way to test it... I think I might know of a way (unless we can just look it up somewhere). I'll get back to you in X days/weeks. :D

Hm... Maybe it's stored against cookies now? I did browse BL a week or so ago, though I didn't log in. Hmm...

ETA: I don't know when I last visited BL, but it appears that 10/27 (nine days ago) is when the last "unread post" is dated.

i doubt it. i use BL somewhat regularly with two computers, running two different OSs from time to time, as well as on my iPhone. it's all working as usual as far as i can see, so we cannot be using local cookies to store this info. (the local cookies are only used for sending your location & PMs to the feds.)

maybe you shouldn't neglect the site for a month in future. ;)
