Opioids How long after Tramadol to wait for sceletium?

Hello! I suffer from chronic pain due to a spinal fusion surgery, as well as having some depression issues, and have recently been experimenting with possible plants/compounds to help with both. I recently came into possession of a good amount of tramadol, which has both opioidergic analgesia and SNRI effects, which could theoretically help both. I have also begun experimenting with sceletium tortuosum for it's mood-elevating and anti-inflammatory effects.

My question is this: how long after taking the tramadol should I wait to take the sceletium? My last dose of tramadol was around 15 hours ago, would taking a therapeutic dose of kanna (50-100 mg) today put me in a danger zone for serotonin syndrome?

Very little is known about the SSRI actions of tramadol. As negrogesic would say it "doesn't play well with others". Waiting a good 12 or 24 hours probably won't hurt.

Sceletium is rather mild though, you should be fine I think.

I had spinal fusion surgery a couple of months ago for Scoliosis and still hurting pretty bad. Don't you have any pain killers like Norco or percs? Or at least some Codeine? Because Tramadol is my enemy. I wouldn't take anything even similar to an SSRI while taking Tramadol because of risk of Serotonin Syndrome. But if it works for you, I'm not here to judge. But I'd wait a day or so before you take the Sceletium just to be safe.

Stay safe.

Yeah man mines from scoliosis as well. The surgery was two and a half years ago, and they only gave me a month of painkillers.

I use whatever I can get to help the pain. I've used basically every NSAID, lots of opioids, kratom, kava, kanna and other botanical items... The tramadol is really non-euphoric but I really helps with the pain at around 100-200 mg. I won't dose any higher than that, reading about the whole seizure issue...

That low of a dose of tramadol, taken that many hours ago, would be inconsequential when talking about your seizure threshold/serotonin syndrome.

Sceletium is a SSRI, Tramadol a SRA (Serotonin Releasing Agent). If you combine MDMA (SRA) and Citalopram (SSRI) the effects of MDMA are reduced, shouldn´t the combination of Tramadol and Sceletium show a similar reduction in serotonergic effects? Is it dangerous to combine SRA´s with SSRI´s? I used Tramadol sometimes a few hours after taking some Kanna and the effects were much smoother, I also felt more clear and euphoric than with tramadol alone and the coming-up was much more pleasant, somewhat similar to Kratom.
