i'm curious what that's like. i had heard anecdotes about how abundant pot was in colorado years ago so i wonder if things seem different after the vote. if anyone is from colorado, what's it like? are people still cautious about when and where they smoke? can you buy weed in stores?

how do you think this will effect other states where it's still illegal?

I'm from Seattle, WA. It's legal here too.

Nothing's really changed. Personally I'm not 21 yet so it wouldn't make any difference for me, but even for people 21+ there isn't much of a difference yet. Weed was never that big of a deal for police up here as generally they'd just confiscate your pot and let you go and it is and has always been very low priority. They are not selling it in stores until next year as that still has to get completely figured out how that will be executed. Overall not much change but weed was never really that big of a deal in the first place.

my buddy in colorado said you wouldnt even notice...i mean if this happened in 1960 in would be night and day, but unless you live in a strict ass state weed really hasnt been a serious problem for a little bit.
i live in mass and we decriminalized 4 years ago, and medicinal went into effect jan 1 2013...and the best part is we as a state voted, not our government officials

at this point in colorado, nothing seems much different. people with med cards can still goto dispensaries but u still gotta have a card. Im pretty sure the state has 12 months from it passing to fig out how to handle stores that could sell to anyone over 21. its still not legal to smoke out in public but its colorado. if ur not dumb u shouldnt have any trouble. i cant really say if more people have started growing or not but anyone over 21 can grow 6 plants. it seems like everyone is still trying to fig the whole thing out.

Seattle WA checking in.

Honestly it seems like there's been an influx of growers or current growers are ramping up in hopes of getting in on legal sales or hoping to fly under the radar and export out of state.

Becuse there's no distribution system in place the weed sold thru illicit means has gotten a little better/cheaper but no real difference. Seattle PD (not the whole state) said they would not be enforcing the ban on smoking in public so you can pretty much blaze a joint anywhere in the city without a worry, but honestly it's been like that for years.

The real changes will come once a distribution system is in place and the state starts trying to weed out the illicit producers, should be interesting.

I have to say that CO's bill was way better than ours, we can't grow whatsoever, in CO Ive heard you can grow up to 6 plants totally legally... Maybe someday...

i live in co and it never really seemed illegal before it got legalized, only lived here past 3 years but have never had a problem or worry about having or smoking weed, its accepted there (hence it becoming legal lol). only difference i see happening is you wont need to pay the state $ to get a card and be able to, but if you dont have your card its like a 21% or so tax, and medical is like 7 % or something if i remember correctly, i could be off on the #s. so basically it would be better to have your med card to get cheaper herb

across the water from seattle-
i think the biggest change is the mind set, and the media coverage.
4 years ago if you saw pot on the news it was like it was the devil, now they show pot on almost every broadcast and the news reporters are just like jolly and happy about it
and they show some beautiful nugs on the news here haha.
