I was just wondering because some younger friends of mine talked me into going to an afterhours club this weekend. I'm in the Dallas area and havent been to one of these places in about 8-9 years. I noticed the music has changed a little of course... dubstep. Not as much liquid dancing. Seems like just about everything is "molly" now contained in capsules. Not as much of the actual tabs going around. Still have the kids running around bragging that they are promoters for clubs and can get into vip. Had some people still bringing up dj Irene and Snow White. Anyone have any stories of how it was in the past? stories from the 80's/90's would be interesting..

I know the exact place you're talking about, I might have even seen you there :D lol. Although I haven't been in the scene since the 80s or 90s, I have watched it change VERY rapidly in the past couple of years. It's all about molly molly molly and people treat tabs as if they're radioactive. Most people don't even know what real MDMA feels like and are satisfied with the methylone, being passed of as "molly". Also the people in general have drastically changed. All these new kids care about is getting fucked and making a profit on it. They've completely forgotten about the music.

In the UK the scene has got a lot younger, to the point where it's ridiculous. It's not hard to get real MDMA and the majority of users don't know the meaning of harm reduction. It's not uncommon to see people go through grams of decent MDMA week in week out.

Totally man,
it seems less about feeling the music and socialising and more about, 'how fucked we can get'.
16yr olds running round boasting to there friends.

this: before i ever did md i looked up a recommended dose on here - people were suggesting around 125mg which i thought sounded reasonable.
however when it actually came to doing it with my mates i soon realised that a lot of people happily go through more than a gram in a night, and like you say the quality is consistently good.

This. When i first went to raves in Syd Aus alot of the people going were English ravers, promoters and DJ's and me and my friends being 17 and 18 were the 'really young ones' as most of the punters and people in promotion and Dj's were 20's-30's and older. Then the rave scene just got bigger and bigger and as more and more found out about it the reverse happened, young kids like 11,12 and 13 started turning up and adults started staying away, and alot of the English people stopped going.

Yeah and the clubs are full of coke heads now. They bring up to 7g with them and keep running to the toilets, I don't get it. Even one of my hardened coke using friends says when he goes clubbin it's pills all the way too much hassle doing coke.

I'd also say we go to the clubs here now, there's a whole bunch of people who drink only. I don't get it, it's a nightmare drunk.

At least you guys still have raves. Over here, we don't even have any.

My friend recently threw an event that was supposed to be 3000+ people.... there were 75 people on the dancefloor.

There are no raves, and the "Night Clubs" suck ass from what I hear. There's no MDMA, so anyone that still goes is either sober, drunk or fucked up on some bunk ass pills... it sucks, because I want to go to some real events :(
