How fast does Opiate tolerance diminish?

To get high I used to have to take about 250-300mg of oxy to get a (very) good nod. Now because of lack of availability I have been unable to get any oxys for a month. So now, one month later I have some.

I was just wondering where my tolerance would be at now? Basically I am trying to figure out by approx how much my tolerance will have gone down (if at all) after a month of no usage at all. Just trying to be safe and not OD.

From what ive read on this site, you should try a quarter to a half of what you use to take, correct me if im wrong guys.

That's a tough question. Your tolerance has probably gone down some, but I can't imagine by how much exactly. I know that, in my experience, my tolerance is always a bit more than I think it is after taking a break. It depends upon a lot of factors, I guess. But I would rather be safe than sorry, so I would take a small dose to start with and then redose in 30 minutes.

^Follow this advice. It's hard to give you an exact answer because there are countless factors to consider and everybody is different.

I would start at a low dose (maybe half your older usual dose) and see how you feel from there. You can always take more, but its much harder to take less. Many opiate overdoses occur with people who have been taking opiates for a long time and developed a tolerance, then they abstained from opiates for a period of time and went back to their usual dose and ODed because their tolerance had gone down.

This^ happened to me after a two week detox visit. I woke up in an ambulance with 2 EMTs screaming at me and telling me they were about to intubate me i.e. not cool, do way less than you think.

Yeah, thats why I asked here before I start taking oxy again. I think ill go with approx half my original dose to be safe. What do you think? Im hoping ill get a good buzz on this amount and not OD...

Im not trying to encourage unsafe practice but 80mg could get me nodding and then i upped it to up to 160mg with very little noticeable effects.

so after a break of around 2 months i tried 40mg which didnt touch me,so i tried 80mg still hardly a thing and then onto 160mg and i was no higher than i had been 2 months earlier.

I think opiate tolerance is an odd one for some it may decrease rapidly yet for others (myself included :( abstinence made no difference.

Thats why i wont bother with oxy's ever again.Far too expensive to go chasing a buzz that im never going to achieve.
