How efficient are lightbulb vaporizers?

I heard that vaporizers are the most efficient way to use marijuana, but how efficient are the homemade lightbulb vaporizers? Can you taste the vapor, and does it taste like what it would if it were smoked?
And what are some ways to get it to vape more evenly? I heard someone say shake the bulb a little from side to side, but how am I supposed to do that while taking a hit? Sounds a little annoying.
Any tips etc.. I should know? Thanks :)

They work but it's the cheap mans way out if you know what I mean. Of course its not as good as a box vape or volcano but it works.

Just make sure you clean the hell out of the inside of the bulb before using it

Yeah, the last time I used one was maybe 2 or 3 years ago, and I got out all of the white crap inside by pouring in salt and sugar and shaking it.
So can you taste the vapor, and is it even worth it? Would you rather smoke out of an apple pipe or vape from a bulb?
And store bought vapes are so expensive!

Yeah but with price comes efficiency.

Personally, I would just go with a regular pipe or bong or something. But idk, I don't vape very often

try to find the bulbs without the mercury dust :)
IME, vape is vape is vape. your technique is probably going to do more damage, but the amount you're losing from too much heat is pretty minimal.
Knives work too, btw (stick ur buds between two real hot knives and collect the vape in something like a 2L bottle)

Ive used them many times and while they work, they are nowhere near as good as a real vaporizer. I thin pipes are more efficent thanlightbulb vapes.

I've used them. If they are clean, if the bud is ground finely, if the cannabis has a decent moisture content, and you know what you are doing then yes you can get some decent vape like hits. But once you try a proper vape, you probably will be reluctuant to bother with it. Remember even if you are under 18 you are still able to buy a vaporizer. There are legetimate aroma therapy uses. Vaporbros is 2-250 and comes w\lifetime warranty. I've tried it and it worked well. Hotbox vape is 150, 1 year warranty I believe?, and I have heard good things about it. Volcano is of course excellent as many of us know. But its around 600 which in my opinion isn't worth it considering it only has a three year warranty.
