How does a drug deal "Go wrong"

A goes to meet B behind a 7/11 with the intentions of buying 4 ounces of cocaine. A hops in B's car and the two shake hands shoot the shit for 2 minutes and A asks B to see the product. B says let me see the money. A hands him a stack of money and he hands it to C in the backseat to count. C says it's all there and B says alright lets see it. B nods to C and C hands him a paper bag with a quarter pound brick in it.. B says alright good looks we gotta roll out this spot is hot. A decides to try it out and realizes it's flour. A reaches into his belt and grabs the 9mm in his wasteban and puts it to B's head while C jumps out of the car with the money and starts running, the sound of the door slamming startles A and he squeezes the trigger, sending B's brains flying. C takes out his gun and starts shooting, several bullets hit A and 2 stray bullets go into the side of an adjacent house hitting Lakeesha Jackson in the throat and the second bullet hitting the infant she's holding in her hands, the bullet passing clean through, ricocheting out the window, bouncing off a parked van and ricocheting a final time off a stop sign before going right between C's eyes. he drops his gun and the impact causes it to go off one last time sending a bullet into the gas tank of a nearby schoolbus, igniting the fuel and creating an explosion that's heard for miles.
laughed till i cried.

The biggest thing I always hear from dealers where things get violent is the dealer ticking the buyer something (giving them drugs on credit) and never being able to collect the money.

Scenarios for drug deals gone wrong:

  1. The drug dealers are not actually real drug dealers, and are just standing in an open air drug market area where they flag people down, and give them either empty bags or fake product. Most times the drug users won't realize they got ripped off until later since they probably want to get out of the known drug area asap to avoid arrest. In the event that they realize that it is fake sooner than later, they will probably be too afraid to do anything about it, and if they aren't then there also isn't a guarantee that these "dealers" are still in that same spot since they figure that a few disgruntled customers might come back at them. It could "go wrong" if they are still in the same spot when these people come back, leading to a confrontation.

  2. Dealer is looking to get out of the game and is possibly low on money so decides to rip off all of their customers on all of their final deals.

  3. Basically the opposite of 2, where the drug user is at rock bottom and is set on going away to detox and/or rehab or is possibly fleeing town, so decides to rip off all of their dealers before going. They may rip off the dealer by either asking for a front knowing damn well that they aren't going to pay it back, by shorting them on the money, or by plain driving off with the drugs when it comes time to pay the dealer after they hand over the drugs.

  4. Dealer is possibly sick of dealing with this particular customer, and when called for a decent quantity of drugs they decide that they would rather just take the full amount of money from that one deal rather than continuing to deal with said customer and getting small amounts of profit per deal. Basically they would prefer to get 100% of say $300 by giving you either no drugs or fake drugs instead of getting say 20% of the $300 by selling you the drugs for the usual markup price.
In all of these scenarios the deals may just go wrong in terms of financial losses, but they may escalate to physical losses if one side decides that their financial loss warrants such a reaction. This may be done as an example to show other people that they mean business and won't tolerate being ripped off, or it might be done in the heat of the moment if the person decides that they want payback in ways other than financial restitution.

Believe it or not there still is some honor among thieves and you'll be more successful and more respected if you're not a piece of shit.

You took the words right out of my mouth, "honor among thieves," and that's really what it is. Not everyone is out to rip the next guy off, and there are still some professional customers and professional dealers out there who don't want any trouble and will do you right. It sucks too because it's all of the other piece of shit scumbags out there that ruin it for all the rest of us. *sigh*
