How do you structure your psychedelic experiences?

with 4-aco-dmt, i just love the way it makes me feel. i trip on it because it makes me feel like a kid again, and it's like i can see things the way i used to back in the day, almost from a perspective i had in middle school or something.

with DMT i trip because it's just an awesome, mind-blowing experience.

i also trip on substances to try and learn more about myself. ive learned much more and had much better experiences with 4-aco-dmt than with acid. altho ive only used acid once, i'll definitely give it a few more tries, but 4-aco-dmt is purely positive, while with acid there were definitely times when i wanted the trip to be over. with 4-aco-dmt, when i'm tripping, i feel like i could stay in that place/mindset forever.

To see or think about things I haven't seen or thought about before. And sex.

To break through my daily routine of life. To be able to be happy about little things again "Damn this tree looks so amazing it stands here since I am able to see and probably even longer"

lol ya i love thoughts like that. i have a lot of those thoughts when i'm not tripping too tho lol.

i approach them as huxley described it, an "opening of the doors of perception." i see psychedelics as removing the normal "filtering" and "guiding" processes in which our thoughts and perceptions are structured and constrained according to something that we are trying to do (eating, working, etc.) tripping disrupts these "intentional constraints" on both thoughts and perceptions, and allows one to experience a more raw, direct experience of "all that is", instead of what my agenda "wants it to be."

yes

To learn things about myself or see things from a different perspective.

I don't really try to "plan" or "structure" the trip or experience since I'd rather just let the acid or mushrooms do their own thing in my mind.

interesting thread to say the least,

if im honest, ive been at it for a few years now and i havent quite worked out
the core reason i do it.

however i did use LSD and MDMA to show my mate that he was as gay as christmas,
to great effect i might add.

for the four years i knew him i could see it as plain as day, he was gay.
it seemed to be putting an awful strain on his daily life and it killed me to see him go through
it, i tried bringing it up once and it was quickly shot down. too quickly.

so i put a little thought into it, and dosed him once with LSD, when i saw the trip was going well, and he seemed quite happy, i thought, fuck it, here goes nothing, gave him a little MDMA, he opened right up, dealt with it, and ever since he seems quite comfortable with who he is.

that night blaste right through years of shit that he had circling in his head.

it could have gone horribly wrong, but im glad i did it.
looking back, it was probly irresponsible, but it worked.

actually, in one way, it kinda did back fire on me.

he confessed an undying love for me. lol (and it wasnt just the molly talking)

dealt with that easy enough though.

psychs have amazing power to strip away a life time of mental programming
and allow a person to start afresh.

that being said, i still cant figure out just why it is that i grew to love psychedelics

^there are probably many reasons each individual has on why they trip. its hard to summarize. almost everything everyone said is a reason why i trip. almost..

i trip for alot of reasons. but the main ones would be 1: because its fun, i love the body high, visuals, etc. 2: i love music and psychedelics open new realms to me through my instruments and music 3: sometimes i can have meaningful experiences (spiritual, thoughtful, love, etc.) 4: i have mental issues and psychedelics have helped me open myself to others and see things form a universal perspective 5: experimenting with new psychedelics and discovering the differences in their effects and dosage
