How do you hunt for mushrooms?

I live in Tennessee and I'm surrounded by cow pastures. What's the safest way to hunt for mushrooms? I'm scared of getting busted, I mean how do people wonder around in cow pastures without the farmer seeing them? I could get the police called on me, or I could get shot.

I feel so lame for being 18 and not having tried any hallucinogen but DXM (yes, in cough syrup). I've known people who do psychedelics my whole life and every time I tried to get some they'd either seem less than enthusiastic or be like "Hell yeah, sure thing!" and never come through. Ever.

First off, please be sure you know what type of shrooms you are picking which are the good kinds and which are not. Second it may be good to scope the location in the day then go back with a headlamp or under the moonlight. Take care to avoid alerting dogs to your presence. However I never had any problems with cops being called but be safe.

Like a chicken doing a dance .. Just me personally ..

Nah sorry dude am in the uk so looking searching in areas will be diff, and prob diff strains etc ..

Like others said google, and theres plenty of books, ive even gone to my local library as a teenager ( Over 10 yrs ago now ) and found books that had relevant info in to identify etc, and it even said the areas, i mainly collect liberty caps, occasionally fly agarick's, but often after ive dehydrated them for long term storage i often give the fly's away as im not too over keen on them .

Good luck, and be safe .

Preferably with a trained mycologist or very experienced mushroom picker.
There can be poisonous look a likes, and that's never a good thing.
I don't know about picking mushrooms in pastures, to be honest I've never heard of it.
I'm from Canada so all the psychedelic mushroom picking I hear about is either from the forests in British Columbia or from a buddies Pyrex dish in his basement

Yeah, you don't want to do that. And unless you know a mycologist, if you go out picking mushrooms you might grab the wrong ones and poison yourself. Don't try it on your own.

There's nothing lame about being drug free at 18. In fact, the people who have refused to provide you with psychs are doing you a favor: people who start taking drugs as teens are more often the ones who have problems with abuse later down the line. I never took any drugs until I was 18-19, and I count myself lucky for that.

Good point clocktower, with regards to that second part of the post. Psychadelics are not something to take too lightly, they can really have lasting effects. It may be the people who you are asking to get the drugs feel that you are not yet ready for them, or they dont want to be rsponsible for corrupting you. Well if you are dead set on doing some psychadelic drugs, do your rsearch first and take care.

Lots of threads on shroomery.org on hunting in TN. I recommend discreetly finding someone there to go with you in real life, way easier than trying to identify stuff you picked with pictures.

Yeah, this is technically a drug identification question, which we don't allow here because it's pretty impossible to positively ID something over an internet message board. Shoomery would be a good place to look for shroom specific information though. I used to live not far from TN & went picking with a couple of old heads to learn. Probably not ideal, but that was over a decade ago & no one died so no harm no foul i guess. Cultivation is probably a safer option. Hope that helps!
