I've actually read stuff saying that these commercials along with stuff like DARE tend to be counter-productive and instead make kids more interested in drugs. If this shit wasn't around maybe not as many people would be interested in drugs.
You guys remember that anti-drug commercial back in the day with the kid sitting at his dad's desk with a bong and his friend in front of him, then he finds a gun in his dad's desk and he's so high that he ends up shooting his friend, now that commercial was hillarious :D.
Who the fuck gets so high that they grab a gun and start shooting friends? hahaha Seriously I don't think weed effects judgement at all, if anything it makes you more paranoid and sketched out about things and people around you.
But anyways, I remember in 6th grade when the DARE cop came in and gave us all little books with info on every drug, and I actually remember reading about LSD and thinking it's the coolest shit ever. Having had never done a drug back then and reading "Strongly powerful substances that profoundly alters reality via massive hallucinations" or something along those lines made me super interested about something like that. Like holy crap...
But yes drug education is bullshit, and the commercials are bullshit as well. I think the better option would be to give out pamphlets that contain logical information about the dangers of substances and whatnot for anyone who might be interested, as well as giving phone numbers for hotlines or some shit.
