EXERCISE! People underrate it so much, especially when it comes to sleeping problems. I hate to sound like a jerk but I swear at least 80% of "insomnia" is usually nothing more than a lack of exercise coupled with too much caffeine and a bad diet. People start looking to drugs to cure their insomnia and end up not being able to sleep without them, thusly furthering the cycle which is obviously no bueno.
If you're sobering up and trying to avoid meds, definitely try working out every day. You don't even have to do anything super intense to garner benefits.
In addition to exercise, a routine definitely helps your body get back into sleeping properly. Both of these are things people have already mentioned so I won't go any further. I really just wanted to emphasize the exercise part
