Hey all,

I was just wondering how they use suboxone in a opiate detox facility. This is assuming that the facility sends the patient home without a script and completely drug free. How much suboxone do they use? 2-3, 8mg pills?

Thanks for taking the time to read!!

Thanks guys.

I`m not sure what an opiate detox facility is, but if it`s anything like my first rehab (the only one that did sub detox.) They started most people including me on 12mgs a day. they started out cutting 8mg pills in half and dose you 3x a day with 4mgs for the first 5 days. then they cut your middle dose to 2mgs every day then your evening then morning so it looked kinda like this.
day 1-5 4mg-4mg-4mg
day 6 4mg-2mg-4mg
day 7 4mg-2mg-2mg
day 8 2mg-2mg-2mg
day 9 2mg-off -2mg
day 10 2mg-off -off
day 11 off
Obviously some people would need a higher dosage or longer periods before dropping as this it is pretty rapid to come off of suboxone in just under 2 weeks. Once piece of advice I can give though is be prepared for delayed withdrawls as they don`t really seem to hit bad until day 3-5, but with this method it was 100x easier than cold turkey off of doing a 1-2 grams of H a day. Good luck!

I got a 7 day taper in rehab. Its been awhile but i think it went.
Day 1.4mg
Day 2. 4Mg
Day 3. 2Mg
Day 4. 2Mg
Day 5 nothing
Day 6. 2Mg
Day 7 nothing.

I had a small heroin habit at the time equivolent to 80 mg oxycodone a day. It was the easiest kick i ever had but it was also my first kick so i dunno. I think a longer taper is better if you have a large habit. Make sure tje detox eill give you clonidine snd benzos after the sub stops. Dont let them bullshit you into believing toyr gonna skip withdrawals. 72 hours after the last sub dose you will be sick as shit most likely. Thats when clonidine and benzos come into the picture. Ask the detox about thete med policies if you dont like what you hear go somewhere else.

The facility I work at does a 6 day protocol. Once COWS of 13 or more is reached the nurses administer the following:

Day 1: 4mg (dose 1)
Day 1: 4mg (dose 2)
Day 2: 6mg (dose 1)
Day 2: 2mg (dose 2)
Day 3: 4mg
Day 4: 4mg
Day 5: 2mg
Day 6: 2mg

There are occasions when we call the doctor to get an order for a "breakthrough" dose to help those significantly ill
