Benzos how do the different types of benzos make you feel, and what do you take them for?

i have been taking clona on and off for the last 6 years, sometimes just a mini dose to take the edge off, sometime larger doses to really feel different.
i ran out a few week ago, and both my docs have no problem in renewing my script demand blood exams (after 6 years). thing is, i thought the stress that goes with taking exams (for me it's stressful) isn't worth a script for something i don't really need. after all, i had some xanax my step dad shared with me.

xanax are good for sleeping, but that's about all.

this morning i found 1/5 bar of clona (0.5mg) and took it and now i will organize my day so that i can take that damn blood/urine exam tomorrow and then hopefully get my new script the week after next.

tl;dr

anyway, seeing that xanax only makes me sleepy while i can get pretty high on clona, i would lie to ask if you guys have similar experiences that show that one benzo isn't like the other. how do they make you feel, and what/when do you take them for?

Sure, different benzos feel different. And their effects are also different from person to person
Clonazepam never worked for me, just like lorazepam.
I find xanax useful for anxiety but it's too short lived and it carries higher danger of "benzo performances" to happen.
I like diazepam related stuff, it hits more spots for me than other benzos: it isn't that great as hypnotic but it works wonders for muscle relaxation and general anxiety. But it has to be diazepam itself or clorazepate because oxazepam or ketazolam are next to useless
As sleep aids, and once flunitrazepam isn't avaliable anymore, I vouch for lormetazepam (easily the most used for sleep over here) or quazepam, both are fantastic. Midazolam would come after that two. Flurazepam is shit or was for me, anyway Triazolam is great to put you to sleep but not to keep you asleep. I have always heard good things about temazepam but never used it myself.

a lot of people say this, i guess it really depends on what you are targeting and how your brain reacts to them.
i don't have anxiety problems (not more than the next person at least) and my insomnia is manageable, so probably that's why i feel xanax just makes me sleepy and nothing else. it isn't even very good at providing relaxation from sleep. i had valium for a very short period of time, and it was before i payed much attention to benzo effects. but i remember telling a friend who also took valium that contrary to her, i didn't mind the "side effects".

i had lorazepam for a short while to see if it works better for me than clonazepam. i can't really tell why i decided in favor of clonaz. and now with a new neurologist i'm thinking about trying a different one. not sure yet, because that could backfire.

I will second Diazepam is unique as is Temazepam. Only in a different way. Diazepam lasting 2 weeks and Temazepam less then a day, both share the warmth and wellbeing for sure. Maybe Chloordiazepoxide [bit like slightly toned down Diazepam] or Clorazepate [never had that] too.

Temazepam could be used instead of Alcohol imo would it be OTC.

They have a own flavor though i love Clobazam, which is unnoticeable.
But does its job well despite that. Pure medication no recreation ime.
To bad they were prescribed during shortages, so almost never available.
Had to Hamster em for emergencies myself.

edit: a not marketed [overhere] but a remarkable good mid way.
Probably the best In that section of mid way all purpose Benzos.
King Etizolam.

I wish I could remember all the benzos I've taken, but funnily enough my memory is a bit fuzzy... wonder why that could be?

Benzos have rarely been recreational in my experience but I have had some pleasant experiences from alprazolam and temazepam. For me, a lot of benzos have a short lived feel good period (in the first hour or two), then a long mildly relaxed and indifferent period, and then a point where I lose interest in everything except for lying down and resting or sleeping. I regard them as useful tools rather than an experience in and of itself for the most part.

Anyway, some quick thoughts:

  • Funnily enough the most enjoyable experiences I had were from flubromazepam - that one was relaxing and mentally uplifting and lasted a good while. This was the only benzo that I felt was almost a little bit opiate like, and those are my drugs of choice so I liked it.

  • It may not be a popular opinion, but I held Pyrazolam in high regard because to me it felt like an extremely functional benzo. It relieved anxiety and.. that's it. It was clear headed, minimal to no hangover, and just all round a case of 'it does what it says on the tin', no more no less. Not likely to be a good time, but also not likely to get you into trouble.

  • One of the most dangerous benzos would be phenazepam. It's strong and very long lasting but what makes it dangerous in my experience is that it has a very slow onset. I remember it taking a good couple of hours to work and even then the activation would be so gradual that you could easily think it wasn't doing anything and want to take more. Plenty of horror stories out there from people who have ended up blacking out in this way.

  • I have a soft spot for etizolam. It's just a great all-rounder. Functional but also a bit enjoyable and a very forgiving substance in terms of rebounds/hangovers. This is definitely not a recommendation or suggestion, but some people (including myself) were able to get away with periods (a few weeks) of daily etiz use and just stop suddenly without much issue.

Everyone experiences benzos in a highly subjective way, so no doubt there will be people that disagree with what I've written above. Overall, I wouldn't recommend trying to have a recreational experience with benzos. They're better at taking away negative feelings than fostering good ones.
