Misc How do pill addicts/users get a steady supply of prescription meds?

Obviously you need a prescription for prescriptions meds, but I keep hearing here and elsewhere that a lot of people seem to be able to get hold of various
narcotic prescription drugs like opiates, and benzos and various stimulants on a regular basis, every day! I mean, I can understand that some people have chronic pain, and they will get a regular prescription for strong pain meds, but probably not enough to abuse regularly, especially after they become addicted and build a tolerance.

Plus those people with prescriptions would not have enough pills to sell to someone who has a regular habit, because the user/addict would certainly need more pills than the person who is only taking them for pain, and selling some or all of them.

Do dealers sell prescription meds?

How the hell do they get a steady supply of prescription meds without a prescription? Their personal prescription cant be that big, that they can sell that many pills to several people!?!

Unless they have a stolen prescription pad, or a corrupt doctor who keeps filling MANY prescriptions.........!

So, how and where(not an address) do users of prescription drugs get all these pills?

I believe he's asking where all the pills are coming from, not how to get them. It's an interesting topic for sure though.
Over the past half year I've been abusing prescription meds, I've seeked out and met a lot of people with prescriptions (Amphetamines, Ritalin, Oxy, Morphine etc.)
Once you're using them on regular basis, you meet other people like you who all network together to get pills pretty much.

This isn't appropriate for OD... but use common sense. There is a HUGE demand for Rx drugs right now so people are going to find a way to acquire and sell them. In some states its still pretty easy to doctor shop so individual addicts OR dealers can do this and get quite a few pills. Pharmacies, trucks, etc. are often robbed, patients divert their medication (1 patient alone won't supply THAT much, but multiple patients can), there are unscrupulous doctors and pharmacists looking to make money, etc.
