I am thinking about buying a bottle of "DXM Long Lasting Cough Gels" simply because they're selling it in the store right next to my house, and they don't sell any other preparation of DXM by itself.
However, it does not say ANYWHERE on the bottle if it cotains "DXM POLISTIREX" or just regular DXM HBr, it simply says "Long Lasting!" in bold orange letters.
In the ingredients, the only thing it lists is "Dextromethorphan HBr"
So, I don't know if they say it's "Long Lasting!" just because regular DXM itself does seem to last quite a long time, and for cough suppressant purposes it purposes it probably lasts even longer; OR if they're saying "Long Lasting!" because the DXM is in an extended release polistirex formula.
The Bottle only contains 300mg of DXM either way, so it might not be enough to just take the entire bottle regardless and still get an effect; and I don't want to pay another $7 for two bottles.
Is there anything that would be listed in the inactive ingredients to help me determine whether this is regular DXM HBr or DXM Polistirex?
Here is a picture of the exact bottle/brand that I happened to find on Google, if anyone know whether this is polistirex from experience:
