How do i keep my self from buying another bag... (Meth)

^ Thank you, glad you like it.
I used crystal meth off and on for over a year so I know what a roller coaster ride from hell it is.
Just wanted to hopefully use my experience to help and offer suggestions in an easy to read format.

Wow, thank you. Wasn't expecting the good feedback :)

If anyone has any other suggestions on vitamins, herbs, or other natural remedies post them and once I've researched them if I'm not familiar with them I'll add them to my post for the OP.

I'd just like to quickly go off topic and say while the post above by rhun is very well written and is very informative. I have to ask were you high when you wrote it? Not to sound disrespectful or anything but you wrote a lot about yourself and what you like and it doesn't necessary mean the OP will like the same things. However the general idea from it is well presented and I would like to think the OP could take a lot of positive information from it.

As I said, no disrespect, I think its an excellent post just some things could have been left out :)

Thank you all so much... This is helping more than you know...

That was the most informative post I have seen yet! Awesome... I will be using all of my support channels...

What, because I mentioned fruits and vegetables I like?
They were suggestions on which ones to try since a lot of people don't eat a wide variety of fruits and veggies.
Everything in the post was directed at the OP and other people dealing with quitting meth.
Are you high?

Are you her editor?

No disrespect = not asking whether she was high when she wrote it. Just because a post is long and well-written doesn't mean that the author is on drugs, and you're not really in any position to judge how others choose to present harm reduction information.

Tons of people post under the influence, and while drugs obviously impede some users abilities to post, that was obviously not the case here so why start shit?

Actually yes a little bit lol. As I said, I meant no disrespect at all. It was very informative however things like how you like onions and how you cook <insert meal here> wasn't needed. Please don't take what I wrote offensively, it was not my intention.

I actually agree on a lot of things you wrote (about the vitamins and natural supplements) if you was offended by what I wrote then I apologize.

Edit:

Tri :- I wasn't trying to imply that because someone wrote a lengthy and very well presented reply that they'd have to be on drugs. I was trying to point out that not everything in said post was actually needed. Again, I meant no disrespect.

IMO :- If it was re-written and parts about how to cook things and what to add to certain fruits and veggies was left out then it would be one of if not 'the' best post ive ever read. As i've mentioned already, I agree with practically everything s/he wrote in regards to help with beating the addiction.

That section was about healthy eating and cooking since the OP was concerned about permanent damage to their body.
Feeling good after quitting drugs is hard but if you can manage it you'll be much less likely to relapse. Getting healthy again is a major factor in feeling better. I was suggesting a yummy way to eat a bunch of different veggies which is relevant to what I was discussing. I don't really think it's up to you to decide what's needed since you're not the OP or involved in the discussion, you just kind of intruded.

But don't worry, there's no way you could offend me.

I think it's helpful to include dietary input because it's something that most users of methamphetamine neglect pretty severely, wouldn't you agree?

Well I can only speak for myself but what you wrote isn't the case for me. I eat like a horse, be it meat, fruit or veg and when im coming of amp's I have no trouble eating (aslong as its after 12hrs from last dose)

When im detoxing I eat the same things I would if I was using. Maybe I am just one of those people that eat healthy normally so I don't notice it.

All I was trying to do is point out that yes, listing the things that will help with beating the addiction is absolutely important however saying I eat this with that and I cook it this way wasn't needed. It does no harm of course, its just my opinion. It wasn't like I was being bitchy about it.

I apologized to rhun if s/he felt offended by it which clearly isn't the case as they've mentioned.

^Right well it's great that you have no problems with food when you're on amphetamines, but that's not the case for most people, who go days and days on end on nothing more than pizza pockets and mountain dew (oh the horror!)

I'll move it over, but please review their forum guidelines and possibly edit your post to remove any triggering phrases, we have to be respectful of our TDS members.

Okay but the point that you don't seem to understand is the post wasn't written for you. So I don't understand why you would even critique it or say I should leave parts out since it was for the OP and they had zero complaint, they thanked me and said it was great. So apparently they found ALL the info useful and didn't need parts taken out. No offense but no one was asking if you have issues with eating food. If you had started this thread then I would be asking you and my post would have omitted that. I'm going to drop it now since I just don't really care, the whole thing is ridiculous. But in the future before you jump in and critique something you should consider whether they're looking for feedback.. and since you weren't even involved in the thread before you just showed up saying I should take stuff out of my post it really rubbed me the wrong way.

i found the post very helpful and like the personal touch because they gave ideas of what works for you, which is basically what this forum is about to me... collect others experiences and use those to make up my mind on what im gonna do

thx again- OP;)

lucky i dont have any problem eating

OK, can we reset now and get the thread back on track? :)

OP, there are quite a few people here that have dealt with quitting meth (or are currently wanting to). Hopefully you will get the support you are looking for. Rhun's post was right on and full of very helpful information. Her first sentence says something really important: quitting is easier than staying off.

<3

I think you need to take your dealer's name out of your phone and avoid friends that might encourage you to buy more meth. I ended up having to go extreme with this and cut out most of friends and moved 3 hours away, but I know personally that that's what had to happen. I still get pretty bad cravings and know that I wouldn't be able to control myself if I was able to get meth so I just avoid it like the plague these days and it works for me.

Also, it seems like you've been self-medicating and just switching off with different substances. If you haven't already, you might want to consider talking to a therapist to get to the root of your problems so you can stop the addiction cycle sooner.

Something that also might help is Octosober. You'll find that other TDSers are trying to stop their DOC right now as well and it can be a huge source of support to have people to talk to that might be going through similar situations. Don't worry that October already started, you can still join in now.

Surround yourself with people that love and support you, reach out, and stay strong and you can get through this. <3
