How do I go about coming off daily benzos?

Clouds house (2nd most costly rehab in England) Tapered me in 9 days off Diazepam and Tamazepam which been on for over a decade -no wonder I had a seizure...

Just reduce your dose ever day even if just crumbs to the point you can still function. That or the Ashton method.

A 9 day taper is insanely dangerous for a 10 year addiction to diazepam and temazepam. Even if you were only taking 20mg of diazepam and 10mg of temazepam a day (unlikely after a 10+ year habit) after a 9 day taper a person would at best be a sweaty, anxious, twitching wreck and at worst psychotic with serious risk of a potentially fatal seizure disorder. I cannot see how any doctor involved in the treatment of benzodiazepine addiction could possibly justify such an approach.

Officially I was only scripted 100mg of Tamzepam a week but I told the doc I took a lot of additional benzos but they probably thought I was just seeking a higher detox dose... This was in the 2nd best' rehab in the UK as well. I was in and out of seziures for 2 hours and now have shadowing/brain damage on my frontal lobe. It also caused terrible psychosis which is getting worse and that's nearly 2 years ago now. Some doctors are good, some shit - don't trust them now.

Clouds House states that their detox period for benzodiazepines is up to 42 days. I find your experience completely baffling and possibly inhumane. Unless you were observed to be a danger to yourself or other patients whilst under the influence. Then it makes a little more sense, at least from one perspective.

As for being the 'second best rehab', it probably is if you're a twelve-stepper, or can swallow that programme.

You were undergoing status epilepticus - a condition that is almost invariably fatal without medical intervention - and the symptoms you experienced are exactly in line with what I would expect from such an idiotic treatment regimen. You need a lawyer. There are no circumstances where that regimen is acceptable and in drug rehabilitation clinics doctors routinely err on the side of caution and assume that patients (because patients are generally stupid) understate their consumption. You have at least a year left to make a claim against the clinic and there is no shortage of solicitors who would take up your case on a contingent fee basis.

There are no circumstances where a 9 day taper from a decade long dependency on benzodiazepines is acceptable. Such a treatment plan is credible with opiate abuse but never when benzos or barbiturates are involved.

I ended up going CT without telling my doc just so i would have spare pills, i told my doc when i was like 3 or 4 days ct. That way just works better for me

You should be thankful that you were well enough to write the above post. Please, never do that again. GPs are not monsters and feeding an addiction is the safest option compared to patient self-medication with potentially unsafe grey market products or sudden withdrawal. If you told your doctor that you went down the path of abrupt withdrawal I imagine you got an earful concerning the idiocy of what you did.
