How can you tell whether your weed is sativa or indica?

What is the best way to tell whether your weed is more sativa or more indica?

To answer your question, the structure should give you a pretty good idea, based purely on senses of smell, and sight - if it's kinda spindly, not particularly dense, very lime green, and it smells very very fruity (particularly lemony or mangoey), there's a good chance it's a pure/sativa dom strain.

If it's very dense and smells of spicey hashish, or deep and earthy, and slightly darker, then you're looking at a nice indica heavy/pure indica strain.

However, most ganja you get these days is heavily hybridized - as crosses are more social (not too stoney, or too THC heavy) and more efficient for the commercial grower to get a mix in the genes.

I can tell ya that I like sativa better, indicas can just sedate me to much and i can get a headache, just pass out etc. I like that heady on the edge colorful fun sativa instead!

99% of the time you're getting a blend, not straight Indica/Sativa, but as stated sativa buds generally have a more fruity smell, are smaller and greener. Indicas, which I prefer, generally don't smell very fruity, unless there's a high percentage sativa in the blend. The buds are usually larger, and can range from light/dark green to brownish or purple, though any pot can have a purplish tinge if oxygen starved during the later phase, or exposed to lower temperatures.

^^ yes and also buds differ in colour when grown indoors and outdoors. So you could grow an indica outdoor, and a sativa indoors and that indica could end up greener then the sativa. So going by looks it's near impossible to know wheather it's more indica or sativa IMO. There are just to many variable's involved.

Just smoke it and find out.

^^^The same threads seem to appear a few times a month, and yeah, 420's right about the colour. Smell and smoking are the best ways to find out.

Yeah as someone said already . Most of the time ur getting hybrid strains .

Pure indicas or sativas are rare and expensive when they evemtually come around .

the only way to be sure is to get the seeds out and grow them... If it doesnt have seeds I wouldnt worry about it cause its good bud and your gonna get baked.

it has to do with the strain obviously, and you really wont be able to tell unless your an avid smoker or you grew the plant yourself.

Like said above, your most likely getting a combo strain, but you can usually feel which side is dominat.

If its sativa dominant your heart will start to race and you will feel very up lifted.

If it is indica dominant, you will feel instantly very relaxed with a sence of well being. I usually eat an insane amount of food on a pure indicia like purple kush.
