When I take kratom I drink 2+ litres of cranberry juice through the day to counteract the water retention the Krat produces. It works a treat but after a while the back of my throat gets so dry puckering feeling and my stomach feels the same way.

What could I drink to rehydrate the pores or whatever :P.

So any scieny theory behind what causes the cranberries to cause that puckering feeling and thus what I could have in the opposite direction which would hydrate them again?

I tried eating cranberry pills instead but they didnt work to any kind of noticeable degree.

I dont like drinking sugary things due to tooth erosion so Id like something with as little sugar as possible.

"Liberal intake of cabbage leafs (raw) is an effective home remedy for water retention. Other natural diuretics: Foods like nettle , dandelion, apple cider vinegar, celery, celery seed, green tea, tea leaf, fennel, juniper berries and parsley are very effective natural diuretics."

can you try stuff other than cranberry juice? i enjoy dandelion tea myself

That also produces terrible gas ime.

Ye Id been thinking to try other things. And Id prefer something that isnt gonna be bad for the teeth over the long run. Id just gotten complacent about looking since cranberry works side effect and all but Im ready to continue the search now I think :).

Hey gas is easier to control (within reason) than tooth rot or that sour taste of cranberry.

I tried dandelion and found it expensive and gave no noticable effect compared to cranberry.

I tried parsley the other day and it seemed to work (also been proven in scientific studies) but taking big doses that had an effect seemed to cause some discomfort in my kidney/stomach areas like I dunno what but didnt feel good that Id wanna take it regular.

Guess I have plenty more common old garden remedies to try yet.

Where is that quote from? What is the point of quoting without giving a source :D

Great link Mysterie!

I was just researching on how to deal with water retention due to a hormone I use.

Very complete.

I tried eating celery and cabbage today.

The celery didnt work afaik but the cabbage seemed to however its horrible to eat. I couldnt make a habit of that.

Got some fennel seeds on the way see how they work.

Ok found a good deal on some dandelion too. Guess i didnt look hard enough before.

Maybe the other stuff i got was an old batch or something.

Much more pleasant to find some kind of tea/leaf material that would work rather than choking down platefuls of cabbage. yuck.

I see they sell nettles too which id also be intersted in trying. Im quite intrigued to try these different herbs now :)

Cranberry is astringent, which is why the back of your throat is getting dried out. It has the same action on the bladder which is why it prevents bacteria from adhering to the bladder wall and causing infection.

You can mitigate it by mixing it with another kind of juice... maybe something moistening like coconut, which is also a diuretic?

Coconut is fatty tho :).

So I have been using the dandelion today but its a real pain making tea all the time.

It is leaves with alot of little barky bits like kratom leaves. So no good for toss n wash.

I would like a simple way to ingest it. Guess I wil have to look into extraction methods as Ive had this issue frequently when dealing with herbals.

Dandelion is also drying.

You need a moistening diuretic in there.

Also make sure you're keeping up your electrolytes as dandelion leeches potassium and sodium out of the body.
