If you have nothing else to add that is on topic, I will UA your posts. No more ad-hominems. Thanks.
yah my b, i was being a complete cunt yesterday. sorry all. i have the flu and its no excuse but holy shit is it making me irrationally aggressive. i actually thought of what an asshole i was being while vomiting my dinner up about 2am last night, if that helps at all :-/
in any event, the question still stands "how bad are energy drinks"
heres another perspective: the Earth's resources are finite. the amount of human energy alone expended on the manufacture of "energy drinks" is something to be considered. then there is the material expenditure - aluminum (which, of course, is quite toxic to humans, plus aluminum production is even more toxic to the environment), the BPA linings within the can, the energy to manufacture the harmful and neurotoxic artificial sweeteners (or the Earth's resources to manufacture and refine the plant derived sugar), the facilities and logistical capabilities to allow such production, the "fossil fuels" and other industrial energy sources used in production (and the pollution they create), and lastly - the fucking can thats leftover after you down the thing in 2 mins or so. Recycling is beyond a joke, and even in a best case scenario where things were actually recycled without creating additional waste, recycling itself is a large energy expenditure. In reality, your cans are piling up in the many cancerous dumping grounds for industrial waste throughout the (mostly 3rd) world.
its a perfect symbol for a completely out of sight, out of mind society. its a perfect symbol of "shut up and consume what youre told." its a perfect symbol of disharmony with one's body and the world around it, and like many things in the modern age, its used to make up for lack of the essential lifestyle elements one needs to maintain optimal health.
i think that anyone who stands as a Steward of Nature should see the rampant production and consumption of "energy drinks" as a grievous offense to sustaining life (one of thousands, of course). it also serves as a wonderful example of a species too stupid to survive - we spend enormous amounts of actual energy (because calling them "energy drinks" is a farce) to produce something that offers no real biological benefit and plenty of biological detriment, and then blindly discard the waste products it produces as though there is a magic black hole somewhere collecting all the trash.
harmonize your body with the Natural world, and youll see the pointlessness of "energy drinks" and related products. eat real food, dont work out superficially, and rest well.
