how addictive is coke?

i did coke a few years ago just to party with friends and try something new and swore id never do it again because i didnt wana turn into a crackwhore...then i did i again in september...and there have been maybe 3 days since then that i havent done it. when i dont have it i want it very badly and i get headaches and i dont feel like doing anything at all sometimes i even feel sick to my stomach. i can function i just dont want to.
i am very close with 2 people who do heroin and i have seen them when they could not get it...they cant get out of bed because they hurt all over and have headaches. they have cold chills and fever sweats. they cant stop puking unless its to shit and sometimes they feel like doing both at the same time. they literally cannot live life without a hit right when they wake up.
i do a decent-sized line right when i wake up sometimes two and thats when my friend goes into the bathroom to hit(shoot up) and neither of us are back to the normal we feel before wed even feel a high unless we do that.
id say that cocaine is more addictive mentally but opiates are probably worse on you physically...ive never had someone tell me i was goin overboard with coke cuz i take it like some people drink pop or take caffeine pills...both of my friends who shoot heroin have vowed NEVER to let me use a needle. so id say snorting it once wont kill you or make you lose everything...go for it! :)
 
From my experience it's a once in a while thing, too expensive in my neck of the woods. Great feeling and a lucid high.
You probably wont have/need much your first try, although at the time if you've had a few drinks you'll probably end up finishing everything you have. Especially if you're out at a club or something with your mates!
Does depend on purity though... i guess try a bit and see how you go.
If you've got a lot of extra money though perhaps treat your second coke session with a bit more caution

BULLSHIT quitin coke was a cake walk nothing I never shot it.I snorted it for a year everyday got busted embrassed in front of family and never did it again I was 23 I'm now 46 and hooked on oxycodone thats a hook mofo Coke aint shit

Then you're either getting terrible cocaine, and/or you're the exception to the rule. You can't say cocaine isn't addictive when 1 MILLION PROFOUND ADDICTS IN THE U.S ALONE currently have their lives spiraling out of control because of it. You're a fucking idiot. For the sake of this topic, do us all a favor and don't respond to anything else. Your experience doesn't dictate anybody elses.

In your opinion, not according to scientific studies on cocaine addictiveness and the millions of people it has taken to the grave and the millions others who are homeless and sell their bodies just to smoke it or shoot it. You are 1 person, it may not have effected you in that way, but to the millions of ruined lives because of coke - you are talking out of your ass and you're full of shit.

Cocaine is more addictive than oxycodone, and it's on the level of heroin/morphine and methamphetamine. Studies on monkeys have even shown coke to be more addictive than heroin.
 
In the short term, the desire for more can be extreme.
In the long term, any cravings will be purely psychological.
If you have poor impulse control, stay away.
You'll just end up blowing all your money. Literally...
 
I have never found cocaine to be addicting at all, past the single night. Yeah... when it's in front of me and I'm doing it, I'll want to keep snorting it for a little bit, but after a while, I just have a drugged out headache feeling and I do not desire more. And I never think about coke the next day.

Than again, I've only done coke a handful of times, because I never found it to be anything special. I much prefer psychedelics and MDMA. So it honestly depends on the individual. The last time I did it was over a year ago, and I wouldn't care if I never did it again, but some people can't get enough.
 
seems like if i party with the yayo , i'll jones for it the next day pretty bad, but after that, i usually just forget about it,
when i had a steady job, i got into it kinda heavy, but it was always like the day after i ran out of cash flow, or had something to do, i would want it but after that, i would be fine


yesterday i woke up and was reading BL and reading some crack/cook up threads and was like man i want a hit real bad right now,
thinking bought the glass rose and the smell of burnt plastic

then i just started working on my house and the urge passed
 
In my experience, compared to other drugs I have seen, snorting cocaine isn't very addictive. I have not known one person who has ever been truly addicted to snorting coke (this is subjective, obviously some do become addicted). I would venture a guess that snorting coke is less addictive than alcohol.

However, I have seen people go out of their minds smoking crack or shooting coke. The method of administration seems to make all the difference.

For me, cocaine is not addictive at all. I feel fiendish the night I do it (only if I do more than two or three lines, however) but the next morning I don't want to do it for a while. I only use it socially, I would never spend any money to do cocaine alone.

I've smoked crack a few times, and the experiences were so awful that I never want to repeat them. I've done it 4 times, never again. It feels like shit to me.

I also have an addictive personality, I have been addicted to opiates and can't put down nicotine. I'm just not prone to stimulant addiction for some strange reason. I've abused the fuck out of my Adderall prescription (which I find way more pleasurable than cocaine) and I have had complete control over it for years. In fact, I have learned to control it better each time I do it, which is the complete opposite of my experience with opiates.

I used to go on 5 day Adderall binges and throw myself into psychosis. I began keeping it to 3 days. But the hangovers from that were too much. So I keep my binges to about a day or a day and a half.
 
iv never had good quality coke but i found amphetamines to be way more fiendish than coke

however with good coke this could be different or maybe im just weird

1. Methamphetamine (Got over that thank god)
2. Morphine/heroin
3. Dextroamphetamine
4. Cocaine
5. Hydromorphone
6. Hydrocodone
7. Oxycodone
8. Temazepam
9. Methadone
10. Fentanyl



I haven't tried oxymorphone, methaqualone, pentobarbital, secobarbital and a whole bunch of other shit.

I'd say it's very fucking addictive. I don't know anyone thats done (good) blow and not liked it...

For me anyway, after a while of doing blow every now and then, I get an urge to get some lines as soon as I get a nice buzz (alcohol) I can usually control myself, but I still find myself buying a bag probably once a week. Obviously im not an "addict", but I can definitely tell it has addictive properties, and if I ever did it a lot, like everyday, then I can tell I would probably fiend for it n shit.
 
i slowly worked up to coke...i always wanted to be a model so the not eating alot factor was always in the back of my mind. i smoked weed and drank then did pills but i was always interested in coke i did it for awhile then stopped and then started again last september. i dont spend every last dollar on it-i will usually find a way to get it though. i dont even like to start my day off without a line now...the effects without it are just a headache and feeling real lazy and kinda bitchy cuz i dont have the energy. i know people that do heroin-they get real sick like deathly ill and i know im addicted to coke but they cant LIVE without that because its way worse-physically and mentally.
 
if you like nitrous you're going to love coke. if i were you i would possibl set some rules with coke so you can party safely... where you are from makes a diffrence. youre in the motherland on coke so i would recommend you go hard on it because when you return from your holiday you might try shit coke which has been cut etc etc and you will realise its not as good as teh stuff in columbia which can be a direct incentive for you not to waste your money. the biggest quam people have is the quality of the coke the high you get for the price you pay. for some its worth it but if youre getting garbage coke forget it.. i went on a 9 day coke binge and nearly killed myself on it ... be careful with it and stay in a safe environment
 
Whether coke is addictive or not (never mind its compulsiveness when around, we all probably agree on that) probably depends on how often you do it. Like any drug, your body/brain gets accustomed to having it around, and doesn't function normally anymore when it isn't. Some people get desperate for a cup of coffee in the morning, and don't feel they can function at all without it.

So sure, it can be addictive if you get to like it "too much" and use it "too often". Otherwise, it's definitely compulsive, but most won't immediately proceed to throw their lives away cuz they need to buy it again the next day, and again, and again.
 
OP here- posted that months ago and since then ive done coke twice, overall use is less then 2 grams. what u guys said wus true- its EXTREMELY FIENDISH. that is very addictive for the night, but extremely easy after that.

i even ended up stealing alcohol and selling it to pay for a couple more lines (textbook fiend) but i dont think ill ever do it twice in a month.

its definitely my favorite drug ever so far... yet really easy to handle on a longterm basis. perhaps wen i have more money itl be different.
