So I'm getting a hot tub soon, so when that happens I'm thinking about throwing a little get together where we will smoke weed and be merry and what not.

Me and a few of my friends were wondering if it would be ok to rail some lines of oxycodone in the hot tub; I'm not worried about drowning because of the nod, but I am worried that the heat will intensify the opiates to the point of OD.

I base this off of a story my parents both shared to me, where they threw a party in college and some people were drinking champagne in their hot tub, and soon enough they were so fucked up on the alcohol that an orgy progressed.

Needless to say, the next morning my dad went out with gloves and scooped out what he described as a "thick greenish sludgy film coating the entire top of the water"8(.

I believe this all happened because the heat of the hot tub dehydrated everyone, increasing their alcohol blood concentration and therefore getting them more drunk.

Would this happen with opiates?

It wouldn't make the opiates any "stronger".. the dangers with hot tubbing and drinking usually comes from the fact that being in hot water really dehydrates your body and so does alcohol. So it is very easy to start feeling ill. Staying in too long if your on an opiate will probably just make you feel really queezy and all and all not good from the dehydration. Drink a lot of water and don't stay in for too long.

Back in the days when poppy pods were crazy cheap and widely available, I used to order them once a month and typically after being sick for a couple days waiting for them, I would take a lot right when I got them and take a hot bath. It became a ritual of sort and I always enjoyed it and never felt nauseous or anything as a result. I found it would help a bit with the itchiness as well (which was sometimes horrible with poppy pods).

As Mr. S above said, as long as you stay hydrated, I can't imagine you'll suffer any ill-effects.

The "don't drink in a hot tub or sauna" warning comes from mixing alcohol and heat. Alcohol interferes with balance, coordination and judgment and these effects are heightened by heat. Alcohol impairs one's judement, which isn't really a good idea in a hot tub and alcohol is a dehydrating and interferes with your body's ability to regulate its own temperature. It also dilates your blood vessels, as does heat, therefore making you more susceptible to passing out. And of course there is the risk of drowning in the tub.

I'm not sure whether there are the same risks with opioids, but I would say it is definitely more risky than using them on dry land. I tried using opioids in the bath-tub several times and it seemed much stronger and I would pass out.

As the posters above have stated it's really just the alcohol that gets affected in form of feeling good to feeling sick.
Funny story, the first time I mixed benzos and a six pack was in a hot tub. I was euphoric from the combo then became apathetic about breathing/life from the weak-and-sick-feeling the heated water gave me.
