Hi!

SWIM stumbled across the following website, and since he is considering to give the instructions there a try he'd like to make sure (in the interest of safer use) whether the product gained by these means would be lethal or not. SWIM has access to Morphinehydrochloride-Trihydrate and is wondering whether he could use said substance in the process described above.
SWIM admits to having little to no chemical background knowledge, but as said he plans to give it a try anyway (for private, non-commercial purposes). Therefore, any advice on the following issues would be greatly appreciated.

1) If SWIM performed the steps in the description above, would it likely work out as expected and/or could the product end up deadly if the process goes wrong?
2) Are there any precautions that MUST be taken regarding materials to work with and/or safety equipment (gloves etc)?

(Also, if it's ok to ask I would like to know what Acetic Anhydride is used for in non-industrial environments, and if it's ok to ask, where can I buy it as a private customer?)

If you are not confident that you can do this procedure...if you have enough doubt that you would make a thread asking whether it is safe..If you don't even know if the type of morphine in your possession is the correct form needed for this... Than yeah, it's too dangerous, and not worth the trouble.​
