October 3rd was day 1, today is day 2. I will explain in the days to come how I ended up choosing to try quitting, and how it is going for me considering I deal with chronic neck arthritis of the ouch variety. It is so strange, I really am amazed I did it. I have smoked and lately vaped wax every day for the last 11 years, used it to help quit heroin, morphine, meth and to sleep and shit. Oh yeah, and to balance my mood. But I am so happy I finally held strong for a whole 24 hours. Now I know it can be done. Holler if ya hear me! ;)

yo weed can be harder to quit than people give it credit for. When it feels like that last thing. Its just hard to let it go. Good for u!

Congratulations! Weed is very difficult to quit - the first week is so difficult - I know the flatness and boredom always just about killed me the first few days...thank goodness it doesn't last long. Keep up the great work and keep us updated! Good luck!

Weed is becoming like alcohol in terms of quitting--it is acceptable, legal in many places and most people dismiss the dependence as nothing. Good for you for recognizing a problem and doing something about it!:)

Congratulations :)

I used to have to smoke all day everyday as a coping mechanism so I know what it's like to rely on it.

Crutch is a crutch and most of us don't realise we're capable of living without them.

I hear you bro!

Looking forward to reading more about this. Was it a psychological addiction/dependency?

Glad you're doing alright!
Thanks! Yes it was full on dependence, at least so I thought ;)

It's very hard to decide to quit, and actually doing it is tough, although I find as long as I get good sleep it feels great!

Thanks! I'm still going strong. Have not noticed much increase in pain :) By the end of the day I do notice my muscles around my neck are more painful and inflamed, but it's not worth it to go back for how minor the pain is. I do have my 5mg 3Xdaily methadone after all.

You are right, I didn't know that I could live without it! Thanks!

Respect dude as most of the previous lads said it aint easy giving up and staying off the ganja. Being off it for 6 months my self and yea not going lie and say I like going without it but tough it out. Did it for a long time all day every day and that was no good for me and I look back and it aannoys me that I left myself do that like it was my fault for putting shit off but I do feel better.

That's great, CfZrx! I am thinking about quitting weed too at the moment. Recently I have taken little breaks, just for a few days at a time, and it just feels so nice to wake up clearheaded and actually remember my dreams. But before long I always end up falling back into the old routine of "Ok I'll get some more, but this is the last time." Yeah right :\.

Hey, that's awesome man, it's harder to quit blazing than most people think.

I have been going through an opioid detox for the past month and I have been smoking like a chimney for that. I started up again after 3 years because I was desperate for a withdrawal aid - and it helps with the stress and depression.

I've already stopped smoking and now just using the oil, which I find less intrusive. I am cutting back a lot now that I don't need it as much, since I am almost finished my taper. I'm unsure if I'll have the desire to smoke once I have dealt with this problem. I don't think I'll really need it, but I love to dab in moderation.

Getting in touch with your dreams again is the best part. I really don't think it's healthy to lose touch with them.

I quit recently as well. Been toke free for over a month now.

Congrats on your willpower! Hope you keep holding out.

Yes, that has definitely been a great improvement for me. It used to be, that I would only stop when I couldn't get anything and then I would be so irritated all the time and would hardly be able to sleep at all. I don't know over time my relationship to it changed a little and I discovered that I actually wasn't as dependent on it as I had made myself believe for a long time. But the general routine of it still persists for now. We'll see...

I hope it is still going good for you! :)
