Welling im a comiNtion of benozs / opiates. Im on Suboxone 8mg / day , and ive been using opaites and benzos for ever and have a TOLERANCE to both.. like today ive so far gone thru 3mg alpraz. and 10mg etiz, oh and 1200mg gabapentin, and im not even feeling tired really, my HR is fine, elevatd if anything, my breathing in great full breaths.

Its just seems so crazy to me how I have to take so much substances to get buzz or even a high , which is mostly out of the question due to being a maintenance guy..

I feel like it such a fine line between an "enjoyable glow/buzz" and on over dose for me... :\

Edit: if you cant tell from my typos , I suppose I mayu be a little intoxicated, lol...im not even gunna fix em'

yea man if you keep upping doses its such a fine line your playing with fire and eventually your most likely gonna get burnt as the saying goes. Us high tolerance guys really put our life in our hands every time we try to get high which is mostly attributed to being on opioid matinence therapy but same goes for long term heroin addicts their body's don't become tolerant to the medication their brains do they need more to get high which also means more respistory arrest and strain on the body to achieve the desired high.

Yeah its messed up when you hardly use benzos you know just few weeks at a time every month or so, never have i gotten a hysical addiction. Iknow im play with fire, but its just sometimes A guy cant operate w/o benzos.

These substances are nothing to be taken lightly.
You will have no one to blame but yourself.
Assuming consciousness remains after death.

Thanks, and I am aware of this I was not blaming anybody else by any-means.

I know very well from first hand experience these are not to be taken lighty, as I have ended up in the ICU for a OD on a methadone/Etiz combo.

The problem with people asking "how will I know if I'm OD'ing?" Is that you won't, until it's too late. That is the whole point.

Each substance has unique risks. Drugs that hit hard and fast will, put you over the edge quickly, without warning. Slower drugs with long half-life's can accumulate and put you over the edge, without warning.

A long-term user, with a high tolerance, and an understanding of pharmacology, and a basic understanding of the body will have a better chance, but it's still playing with fire. And you're playing with the most precious thing you have: life. It's the only one you will ever get, and the most experienced user in the world can lose it from a few mg too much H in a syringe.

Hey man, a lot of us out here understand what you mean by a fine line between getting the high you want & possibly overdosing, or at least feeling like it........

Like you stated, you are slurring your words & from that aspect, you are pretty high, it just might not feel as high but you are there.

Try & take it easy from now on.......you are on maintainance.........

Thanks man,,,,I need to be reminded every once ina while.

I just done FEEL like I am.. and thats the problem with us on maintenance...I can;t get a satisfying high...constanly am I chasing that dragon,

It kind of bothers me that I get the feeling the topic creator is being chastised here...I understand the importance of impressing the need for safety and disastrous consequences of overdose, but this IS a harm reduction website and he obviously is thoughtful enough to ask for help here which shows at least some good due care and attention.

I think it would be better to firmly and objectively answer the question without calling him a fool for putting his life at risk.

You can't tell until you're well on the way down the pit, so to speak, usually.

Be safe - know your source, know your substance, know your dose, use a scale, and be safe. You can always take more, you can't un-take a lethal dose.
