Hiya to all

Hi Smoky,

Ya quite surprised it wasn't already taken...I might not be as late as somebody who is just late.
As a hypnotist I'm all about sugestions...Have you got a sugestion for me?

Let's discover together what it might has been discovered before or after in the concious or the unconcious, or most likely somewhere in the middle before or after of where reality really is real, if such thing makes any sense or you can make it...SLEEP!!

Hmmm, suggestions? Well, I do think this might be a post for the Philosophy section. Or any related forum where these 2 topics you mention meet.

If they meet, let me ask … where that might be ?? I do think it is possible to discover.

I do understand making the conscious mind unconscious. I also must say most of this might be a dream at times.

Great to have you here. :)

Thanks for the welcoming. I like your style Smoky :)

Don't take me too seriously just trying to twist your mind...but you might have twisted mind ( I mean mine;)) Introductions are very important for a hypnotist as the power it's never in who gives the suggestions, if not in who is able to embrace them. But ironically people embrace better suggestions when they believe the other can actually make them embrace them.

Lately I'm thinking a lot in how suggestions modulate our own perception in our experiences with drugs. What I mean is that being told what will happen might actually make it happen by itself (pseudo-placebo effect, pseudo, because there is an actual drug).

So I don't know if it's better experience without knowing anything and then contrast, as to have a more ''pure'' experience. Or get loads of information and have a more suggestive/directed/controlled experience but probably more aware of details than can escape your single analysis.

What do you think?

Thanks Hypnotist,

I'm not taking you too seriously. I do have a bit of a twisted mind. You make a good point. The power of suggestion is indeed relevant to how IME our perceptions of reality are formed in expectations when under the influence of mind altering substances.

I have experienced both… I do suppose I prefer a more pure experience, albeit - to be informed of what might happened can be helpful, especially with harm reduction.

I might have misinterpreted, if so sorry. Although, I do believe I understand your point. :)

You haven't misinterpreted anything.

I myself always tried to go into the experience with as much informationa as I could get. As you well pointed out for harm reduction purposes. I'm sure it was the key to survive to several abuses and addictions.
It's curious, because now that I think about it I might have done just the same in other areas of my life. It might have something to do with my personality and my need for understanding or control. A psychologist told me once that I'm too much in my head and should take more action...

But right now I got plenty of experience and I feel I can take small risks in exchange of a bit more of novelty. Wouldn't recommend that to neophytes in no way. And I'll check dosages guidelines and start low.

It was lovely to talk with you and don't doubt to throw any idea to me, I'll do my best to catch it. :)
Hope we'll see again around. I'll probably be a lot in the psychedelics forum, though still reading much more than sharing.

I hear ya. I found sanctuary but also kinda a prison in my mind daydreaming very early on in life, mostly from trauma of what was happening around me. I don't need to live in my head so much today, but will find myself there when I am triggered. For me it can indeed be a control mechanism to fear.

I do relate.

See you around the site. Good to dialogue here with you as well. :)
