Benzos Highly novel benzodiazepine - user experiences/thoughts regarding Camazepam?

All I've got to go on, for now, is the wikipedia entry for Camazepam; however, if you read through the singular paragraph they've got on the substance, I think it will be equally as interesting a benzodiazepine, from an anxiolytic point of view, as how I found its unique profile to be.

I'd love to hear from someone who's actually tried it, though.

Also, as for anxiolysis, I've always considered my 2mg Xanax XR's to be my sure-fire go-ahead to tackle the problem. but from the use of xanax arises the plethora of truly undesirable and - to an extent - debilitating side effects that it produces; namely, impaired cognitive motor function, disrupted sleep patterns, depression and fatigue. Camazepam may add a completely new dimension of anxiety-relief and, as such, I feel it a duty to myself to go after it!

Looks like a prodrug for temazepam, which is a pretty well-known and respected benzo. Should be at least an order of magnitude easier to dose and play with because it won't suck quite as hard as phenaz or etizolam. I bet dosages are comparable to temaz (tens of milligrams).

Benzodiazepines are very hit-and-miss for many people, I personally think they should be saved as last-resort stopgaps because of issues like this.

Where do you see it being a prodrug for temazepam? Wouldn't it lend itself to more of that mental confusion that is so characteristic of temaz? I'm prescribed both xanax and restoril and so the anxiolysis that temazepam lacks so much is really apparent to me. But if this were a prodrug for temaz, why would it be so effective for relieving anxiety and have almost no activity in the other domains?

Or is it saying that camazepam is more active for anxiolysis at sub-clinical doses?

I agree, benzodiazepines should be reserved as stopgaps. I wish that, ten years ago when I first began treatment with them, my judgment would have been a bit more informed and responsible. I take herculean dosages these days and am really wondering if, due to the amounts of benzos I've taken during my formative years (15-25), my GABA mechanisms in my brain have been forever disrupted. It's a frightening thought. I'm already wandering into the realm of rebound anxiety (i.e. levels that are worse than before tx was started) when I take my medication, and have suffered several seizures during a monitored taper over a nine-month period using diazepam.

Perhaps I should stay way; good point for pointing out etiaz and phenaz, those were indeed disasters and these newer benzos do not seem to be out-performing their older counterparts in any way.

Camazepam is a derivative of temazepam that apparently is more selective for anxiolysis. It is also a prodrug for temazepam because it is a very simple derivative.
